Imperihome talks

Thanks for the response! I appreciate it even if I don’t necessarily like it.

Imperihome, not dead ?

Is the dashboard software back on ?

Imperihome was the best dashboard software available, I wonder if someone will keep developing it.

Its been dead for years. Think you can still use certain versions of it, before they introduced the account login stuff.

Unfortunately, even if one has a version, you can’t log on.

Too bad no developers picked it up.

Dom

I know that’s why you need an older version of the app where there is no login

Hey CW.

I asume that would have to be a very, very old version, I think all the versions I have seen have required a password or membership, or some sort of login.

Check your forum message inbox I sent you a message.

I’m still using the imperihome app, but since a couple of days back it won’t authenticate against Vera servers, so it won’t work outside of the Vera LAN.

Anyone else using the app that has noticed this?

I just tried it on my phone with the wifi turned off and i was able to turn on / off some lights.

I did however initially have to open the app with wifi enabled and reload all my devices in the Imperihome app. After that with wifi not connected just mobile data, it did seem to work “remotely”.

Thanks @cw-kid, much appreciated.

Unfortunately, I still can’t connect to either of my two Vera’s, outside of their local LAN.

I’ve also tried an imperihome instance on an old phone, and I get the same error (Error getting device data - ERR40), so my conclusion is that there must have happened something with my account the last couple of days. Also strange since other apps (like Home Remote) are still connecting and working just fine.

If Vera/@ezlo staff is around and have any input that would be great.

Im not sure then. In Imperihome app when I have Wifi turned on I can go to My Objects add a new object select Vera UI7 etc put my username and password in and the app does connect to my account and then discovers all the controllers on my Vera account OK.

If I try the same with wifi turned off e.g. I am just on the phones mobile data, it says it cant authenticate.

However as I said my existing connection to my Vera Plus is still definitely working “remotely” when wifi is turned off on my phone, I could still turn some lights on and off.

Dunno maybe try running through the connection wizard again, of your existing Vera Object in the Imperihome app, whilst your phone is connected to your local wifi.

There is definitely something off with account handling. I can’t add a new objekt even if I’m on LAN/wifi. Also tried another user, with same result (Could not connect. Please check login/password combination). I’ll open a ticket with Vera support and see what they can find out. Thanks @cw-kid for helping out narrowing this down.

What version of Imperihome is it ?

On Android I presume?

You should be using this verwion.

I’m on the last version 4.3.17. I’ve been able to keep it going although the Imperihome account is no longer around, but I will try that older version just to rule that out as well. I think I have it laying around somewhere.

I started a case with Vera Customer Service, but they are so far not that eager to help out - the technician climbed that “it’s not our app”-horse and been fighting me of the best he can, but I’m hanging in there :sunglasses:, so we’ll see.

I also remember that something similar to this happened a couple of years back and was due to a hardware update at Vera, so I bet it’s something going on again at that end. Imperihome Vera login - #23 by Valentin_Grigoras

Ok I didn’t think it was possible to use the last version with the login to the now none existent Imperihome servers.

How did you manage to do that and use that version ?

I am unsure about latest version, I use 3.0.11 and also put it here:

It works OK for me.

Thanks for confirming that version 3.0.11 of Imperihome app is also working for you remotely right ?

That seems to be the case for me also. I was able to control my lights “remotely” when my phone was only connected to 4G mobile data and not connected to WIFI.

@cw-kid I get the 4.3.17 version working by opening it via a shortcut, e.g. to a page [Edit: to be more precise, I add a widget to open a dashboard]. If I start it via the app icon I get the login view, but via a shortcut the app opens.

Seems I can’t install 3.0.11 on my Samsung s22, or on the Xperia I have as backup. Bummer.

Not sure why you can’t install it ?

I’ll DM you with a link to the APK files I had and maybe you can try again.

I solved the installation problem, the issue is due to multiple apps with the same package name. It didn’t matter that I tried to install the older version in i different user account or “hidden folder” on the phone, I had to remove the current installation altogether.

Installing 3.0.11 didn’t help though, same issue getting app data and authenticating. Tried with a fresh install, adding new objects, importing previously working configurations, via different ISPs, different phones, app reloads, phone reboots, etc etc, and still stuck.

Still, thanks for trying to help out.
