How do you force a firmware update on ezlo box

I was told I was running. January rev of firmware. How do I update to the latest ?

Thanks

Bill

Hello Bill,

Please power cycle your controller and wait for the purple light. This process will take around 15 minutes.

That did it. Thank you!!

Should that be a monthly procedure to ensure I have the most current firmware revision?

What is the latest firmware public and beta? Thanks!

Hello @augustov

The latest firmware version is 2.0.59.2759.8 (176), and the Beta version is 2.0.61.2793.2. Do you know if your controller is part of the Beta program?

I am at 2.0.50.2444.3, I used to be in the beta program, would love to be back on it, I am even behind the latest firmware now… bummer!

I’m at 2.0.56.2640.9. Restart does not update the firmware. Can you take a look at that too? I’d also like the beta again.

@JonathanB any help here?

Hello @augustov and @Odysee

Please restart your controllers. You will notice that the light will start flashing purple while it updates to the latest available version. I am waiting for a response from the department that handles the list of controllers in the Beta program to include yours.

That worked, thanks! Let us know about the beta program… thanks!

Update was successfull.

By the way, it would be great if there were reports here in the forum about new firmware versions and what they contain. There should also be something like this in the appropriate place for the beta firmware. Then we could test more specifically and give feedback.

Hello @Odysee
The forum has a release notes section for beta and public Linux FW releases. We are working on the next FW release we plan to make public this week (2.0.59.2759.8). Then you can review the release notes for this version.

I know the release note section. But it would be nice if updates were reported regularly. The last release note is from March with version 2.0.51.2471.8. In the meantime there have certainly been one or two updates (at least 2.056, 2.059 and 2.0.61 mentioned here).

The same applies to MiOS App, Dashboard, EZLogic (last entry 2.0.1, current version 2.4.4) and Newly Integrated Devices on Ezlo Platform. There is simply too little in the official announcements.

I accidentally found this page today: https://support.ezlo.com/hc/en-us/articles/14528607088284-Linux-Firmware-for-Ezlo-Plus-E450-and-Ezlo-Secure-E550

This seems to show some newer info.

What’s a “power cycle”? How? Thx

Hello @Tom1951

A power cycle is a reboot or restart that involves unplugging your controller from the power adapter.

Doesn’t the battery keep it powered?

Yes the Ezlo Secure has a battery to keep it powered on.

See here however -

Or just go into the web UI then Settings - Controllers - select the Ezlo Secure and the Function button then Maintenance / Remove

And then Reboot Ezlo

OK, did the 2-5 seconds on the reset button. Light went to purple, the back to blue. However, now all my devices and meshbots have disappeared.

@JonathanB are you able to help here please !
