Home Buddy 0.28 BETA [CLOSED]

I’d love for some more plugin support to be added, e.g. Wake on LAN , Onkyo.

New build up…

  • Updated to UI5 icons
  • Danfoss Living Connect support
  • Fixed Variable Container

The device type is urn:schemas-micasaverde-com:device:ComboDevice:1. There is no action on this device displayed by Micasaverde WEB application…[/quote]

That’s still present.

That being said, that is strange but not really annoying.

What UI version are you running? Can you send screenshots of the dashboard and the popup that comes up when you hit the wrench icon?

Hmmm, latest version will not show any devices.

Does anyone else have this problem? Seems to work fine for me. Do you maybe have the favorites filter turned on and no favorites?

Nope. I even cleared data. It may be the ROM I updated to today. I’ll downgrade and retest. This is ICS BTW.

Nope. Downgrading my rom didn’t help. Home Buddy gets stuck on full refresh. Also, the local or remote symbol does not show.

UI5.
The Home Buddy version was downloaded the 28th of April, so it is probably not the last version.

Here is a screenshot.

Try accessing locally and make sure have the correct IP. If that works, then you probably have issues accessing Mios’ servers. Try either of these in your phone’s browser:

https://fwd1.mios.com////data_request?output_format=json&id=user_data2

https://fwd2.mios.com////data_request?output_format=json&id=user_data2

If you don’t get anything, it might be the SSL cert issue: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,4834.0.html

That’s strange… I’m not sure how to handle this case. I think I’d rather not remove the controls in case other combo devices actually need them. Let me see if I can get some info from MCV.

New build is up:

  • Updated Window Covering implementation to match Vera’s – now uses Dimming for Open/Close
  • Added Filipino, German (courtesy of Manfred Ssykor), and Greek (initial translations, unverified) locales

If you want to volunteer to translate Home Buddy to your language, please let me know. Thanks!

How does it determine a CFL icon over an incandescent icon? Just curious…

Usually it is determined by the device type of the device. So if the CFL is on a relay type switch (on/off) it would be a device type urn:schemas-upnp-org:device:BinaryLight:1, If an incandescent is on a dimmable device the device type would be described as an urn:schemas-upnp-org:device:DimmableLight:.

Just some questions/suggestions/bug reports regarding voice recognition:

Would it be possible to add support for other languages (e.g., German)?

All my scenes are prefixed with an abbreviation of the room the scene resides in (“LR All lights on” for “Living Room”). Would it be possible to add an option to skip the the first ‘word’ for voice recognition?

Edit:
The algorithm outlined at [tt]http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,9716.msg71400.html#msg71400[/tt] might be more user-friendly.

I have a scene named ‘ADD_1_0’. Running ‘ADD_1_0’ by pronouncing ADD-One-Zero seems to work, but Home Buddy crashes a few seconds later.

Edit:
The crash is reproducible for Vera V1, V2, and VeraLite - and the crash isn’t limited to a specific scene.

Accessing locally did not work and I wasn’t able to test the url yet. Here’s a screen shot.

2 problems on my devices:

  1. in Local mode (wifi), when I tap on my IP camera, I have a back screen and when I click on back button I have an error message (see screenshot)
  2. in remote mode (HSPDA), refresh don’t work I think that application can’t connect to my vera device, but it was working with playstore application (not beta version)

New beta build:

Mon 30 Apr 2012 06:10:53 PM EDT

  • Speak-a-Scene enhancements/bugfixes
  • Wake on LAN plugin support

Thanks for the suggestions. Please try the latest build as I have fixed the Speak-a-Scene crash bug. It had to do with a translation the I removed when I was cleaning up (doh!)

German voice recognition should work if you configure your device to Deutsch in System Settings > Language and you name your scenes in German. I did a quick test with a scene named “öffnen” and it worked fine.

I have also enhanced Speak-a-Scene to use “contains” instead of “equals” per your suggestion. What this means is, scenes now don’t have to be an exact match. As long as the scene contains what you say or what you say contains the scene, it should work. Let me know if this works for you.

garrettwp’s implementation in Authomation is pretty interesting. With his permission, I’ll see if I can do something similar in a future release.

Are all your settings correct? I usually get that error in development when my settings reset.
