Home Buddy 0.28 BETA [CLOSED]

Hmmm, I’m not understanding what you mean by the 3-piece vertical bar. I am using the beta that was released on 05/05/2012. If I go to Setup, I have 4 sections and no option for ‘Default Tab’:

Setup:
Locate Vera
My Vera:
Serial
Mios Username

About:
Change Log
Advanced:
Bypass Refresh Prompt
Speak Scene Countdown

The 3-piece vertical bar BOFH is referring to is the icon to pull up the menu in Android 3.0+. You’re right, the option currently doesn’t exist in the beta – I actually did this intentionally to “show off” the brand new Device view. I used to be Scene dependent myself, which is why I selfishly made it the first tab, but with this new version, I tend to use the Devices view (because it looks so nice  ) and just rely on shortcuts for scenes. But don’t worry, I’ll add it back for you. This will probably be the last feature I’ll add before I push this version live.

New beta build up now with Default Tab option.

Ninja fix for the last build – fixed force close for users upgrading from 0.27

I’m looking forward to get Home Buddy 0.28 from the app store.
I’m using Home Buddy now for a month, and tried some other apps aswell, but i’m very satisfied with Home Buddy.

If you still need some help for Dutch translations let me know…

New build up with completed Dutch translations – many thanks to bbredewold and Thiemen!

@rakstar - Thanks for the great app, a few things…

  1. Any way to get rid of the refresh failed error? i get it both locally and remotely.
  2. I would love another tab that only shows devices that are on (or maybe a filter on the device tab)
  3. I’d rather not see the power consumption on top of the on/off logo as it blocks the logo - can I filter that?

thanks again

  1. What do you mean by “get rid of the refresh failed error” exactly… do you want to mute the error in the event of a failure or are you saying that the app doesn’t work? If the latter, have you checked your settings?

  2. Have you tried the “Filter Favorites” option?

  3. I can probably make the power consumption configurable in a future release.

  1. The error persists on every single refresh. My settings seem to be ok as far as i can tell and the status is usually correct. “ERROR: Refresh failed. Please check your settings. (java.lang.NullPointerException)”
  2. Filter favorites only shows favorites (obviously) I am looking for a tab where I can quickly see only the lights that are on
  3. Thanks.

Thank you.

  1. Can you send me your user data and logs so I can troubleshoot?

  2. Will this just be for lights? I have on my list a tab to view devices by type, with that, you can view just all lights and go by icon… will that suffice?

I will PM the logs if I can find them (how?). I guess the solution you propose could work too.

Logs you could get using a free app called aLogcat. if you need help with user data, check here:

Please email them to homebuddy.android@gmail.com

Thanks!

v0.28 is now live in Google Play! If you don’t see it, wait a while as it takes some time for changes to roll out.
