Aeotec Multisensor 6 (AEZW100A) - anyone used it?

For my part I note that the UV value is the same as the value LUX. It’s very weird.

How did you get it to report a value at all?

I do not know, what I’ve done, I installed the new firmware, uninstall the 6in1 and I installed again.

Stupid question: I’m still running a VeraLite until the VeraPlus comes out. Since this is a Z-Wave Plus sensor and the Lite doesn’t support Plus, what functionality will I not get from this sensor and will including it adversely effect my current system?

Just added my multisensor. Vera Edge Firmware 1.7.1569.

This is all I have. Any suggestions? Changed params 3 and 4 as listed above.

Yep mine has also started to show up on my Vera3, noticed it after an update to the latest firmware version (1.7.730)

Wonder device_file needs changing from D_GenericSensor1.json to D_UVSensor1.json or something?

Edit: Tried that got a ‘GET_LANG(system_error,System error) : Device: 68. Fail to load implementation file D_UVSensor1.xml’ error.

Or if support for UV is coming soon?

I’m not going to remove my MultiSensor6 and set it up from scratch again to see if it works - it was alot of mucking around just to get the basics showing up.

Ok, just set this thing up. Plugged in the sensor inside the safe. Put the Vera in include (since it’s located about 10’ from the safe) and pressed the action button. It all looked good with lights. I read the instructions and it mentioned that I can check to see if it was included by pressing the action button and the LED should turn green. It did. Then I realized the Vera was still in include mode. Upon opening the UI, it said two nodes were added, but only shows devices for a single sensor, so I think I’m ok there.

Now, I have motion, Temperature, Light, Humidity, and UV. No shock sensor. hmmm…

UV seems to be reading same as Light. The door is open and the garage lights are on. I think it should be reading higher. Garage lights are fluorescent so maybe that’s wh they’re the same? I have a UV flashlight. Maybe I can play with this.

Placed UV flashlight in safe and waited what seemed like forever for the level to update. Still reads same as light sensor. I’m struggling to find value in a UV sensor. My guess is that the implementation of this was very cheap and it allows them to advertise “6-in-1” on the box. Also, I’m trying to figure out how to reduce the light change threshold to send a report down to 5 lux (I think default is 100 lux). It seems that’s all the light this thing gets when I open the door in a fully lit garage.

@BoneyCheng, me thinks your comment

This is because in post #171, he sets parameter 4 [2 byte dec] to 5, this sets the Multisensor 6’s motion sensor to finish its timeout within 5 seconds which will revert the motion sensor back to an untriggered state within that 5 seconds.
is not correct, according to the device valid parameter configurations for variable #4

0x04(4) = Enable/disable the function of motion sensor. the data size is 1 byte dec and the value is either;

  1. Value=0, disable.
  2. Value=1, enable.

Of those folks that have working Multisensor 6’s motion sensor, has anyone been paying attention to their device battery level indicator? I had seven sensors up and running since this summer with my variable 3 set to 30 seconds and they all currently show a green 100%, I would have expected some variation in battery level between sensors due to frequency of sensor trips. can anyone confirm? Mike

I don’t have the multisensor at this point, but I can say I’ve run my ecolink in the “test” mode, so it can be triggered every 8 seconds, for almost 8 months with no change in battery level. This is in the kitchen and is getting extremely high levels of traffic as it picks up the front door as well. I just don’t think the batteries drain as quickly as people might think they would. Especially if it’s one of the CR batteries vs a normal AAA or AA.

I have a couple of posts a few pages back[/quote]

thanks! I just purchased 4 of these… I’ll get them running next week on UI5 if all goes well!

Good luck! I couldn’t get them to detect motion, even with the latest 1.06 firmware and the beta U15. Tech support had no luck either.

When I first installed my sensor with new batteries, it shows battery level at 50% with 2 brand new batteries. It hasn’t changed in a few weeks and I have variable 3 set to 30 seconds also.

Running several of the 6in1 sensors now on my ZWave network with all functions working including shock. All I had to do was move to InControl HA and ditch Vera altogether. They worked right out of the box.

My first set of 6 came in with recessors and batteries. The recessors are nicely designed. Running Vera3 firwmware 1.7.730. Pairing was fast and I ended up with 4 sensors. Since I run openLuup with Vera as the z-wave controller I use AltUI exclusively. Sure enough, I had 5 sensors (all but shock) in AltUI. It appears that UI7 has one of the sensors hidden as an undocumented feature.

All 6 (6 in 1’s) show a firmware of ‘134,0,35235’.

Added the parameters per this thread and tripped state is immediate (thanks for the post on that). I can’t speak to the accuracy of the temp or lux but so far these seem nicely built and good to see that MCV has added the necessary support. If all goes well I’ll go ahead and order the other 6 for the remainder of the house and garage.

Edit: Added photos of recessor (swivels up and down).

And the back…

Need to get this working on UI5. Many of us refuse to use Alpha versions of software (UI7) when it is less reliable than the beta version (UI5)

How does that z-wave plus work on ui5?

I’d be very surprised if the device had features that required Zwave Plus. Most likely it uses a Plus chip but only standard Zwave calls.

Seems this morning the UV sensors started to show on Vera3. So consider this an update to my previous post.
