Sooo… Ah… Where did you get the recessed mounts? I haven’t found them for sale anywhere.
TheSmartestHome
A quick google search came up with the following.

As others have indicated, I purchased them from The Smartest House. The batteries and recessors were included and free shipping. Can’t get any better than that, well - unless they came and installed them in the ceiling for me…
Oh how I love forums. :

I was told the free recessors deal ended last week… if it is still avail you should jump quickly. I bought 4
Ordered 6 more today so it’s still being offered.

Ordered 6. Not sure if I’m even going to need recessors on all of them, but free stuff I can possible sell off to recoup some of my costs.
I just got one of these running… except UV Sensor does not report at all.
FYI, what Rex posted are not the correct variables for GEN5
I recommend using USB to power while you are setting these, then install batteries after everything is set.
I use the following settings:
on the Device’s ‘Settings’ tab:
Wakeup interval (seconds): 340 - we think this time is rounded to 4 minute intervals, not sure.
Poll this node at most once every: 120 - this should be lower than the Wakeup interval.
Important: I suspect that no matter what you set the Device Option reporting interval to (Variables 111,112,113) that only works on USB power. When on Battery power I think ALL Sensor’s reporting intervals (except motion which is always immediate) are based on the Wakeup interval. This is from my observation
Device Options
Variable 2 1-byte-dec 1 (Wake on battery insert)
Variable 3 2-byte-dec 10 (Motion timeout in seconds)
Variable 4 1-byte-dec 1 (PIR enabled)
Variable 101 4-byte-dec 225 (sets which sensors are reported on for Group 101 - 227 is ALL sensors) *I could only get 225 to set - thus, excluding UV sensor in Group
Variable 111 4-byte-dec 100 (reporting interval for non-motion sensors in Group 101) * I could not get anything less than 100 to set
*note: Variables 111, 112, 113 all set the same thing: reporting interval for the non-motion sensors (time in seconds). The unit can store 3 ‘groups’ (1, 2, 3) of settings, each corresponds to 101, 102, 103 for setting the reporting intervals… most people will only have one profile so you will only need to set 101.
After setting these, press Save on the Vera UI and then reload your browser page.
You will probably see a message that Vera is waiting for the device to wakeup. Wake
it up with three clicks on the black button. You may also need to click the
Configure node right now button if Vera displays a red status message saying it
can’t get or do something.
thx
Whenever my 6in1 detects a movement, 2 alerts are popping up in my VeraEdge Dashboard: “Device x has been tripped” and “Device x is no longer tripped”. The sensor is disarmed, and the sensor’s Notifications-tab is blank.
I do not receive such alerts from my 4in1 sensors. How can I stop these alerts?
to Cuda,
did you notice that the light sensor and the UV sensor are reporting the same values?
Yes, confirmed. I believe others have reported the same. One child devices indicates ‘Lux’ (light) and the other ‘Level’ (UV) so I’m at a loss as to why or when this will be resolved.
[quote=“aleco, post:231, topic:187238”]to Cuda,

Anyone get the Light Level to report/change quickly when lighting levels change? If you have, please let us know what you changed. thx
I say your post earlier and I would have responded but I honestly don’t know what the reporting period is. One would expect that it would report as a change occurs but it sounds like that’s not what’s happening. So what I’m thinking I’ll do is use AltUI to write the Lux readings to Thingspeak and then I can post the link to the graph. I’ll do this for two sensors, one for the den (2 walls of windows) and the other within the foyer.
I’ll post back tonight once I’ve implemented this…
As I recall, there’s a few things that figure into this: Light change threshold, which I think triggers a wakeup and a report and is default at 100Lux; Polling interval which is how often Vera asks the sensor for data, and Wakeup interval which is how often the sensor just decides to send whatever reading it has.
I’ve been trying to play with these, but honestly UI7 is less than convenient for some of this. And trying to remember which parameter and what data type it is and setting them and knowing when they actually change is leaving me with a headache.
I recently saw a screen cap of what looks like Homeseer’s parameter settings and it looks so damn easy. Click a button labeled with the exact parameter and change the value. I really don’t know why Vera is so cumbersome to use. I’ve been thinking about checking out this AltUI thing. From what I gather it’s almost as if a single user has created a better UI in a few months than the whole Vera team has in several years of development.
Yes - way better and the developer is super easy to work with. I’d even imagine that an idea such as HomeSeer type parameters could be discussed with amg0 (the developer).

Just installed AltUI. Holy cow it’s basically already there.
He should just license this to Vera Controls to be UI8.
Yes, it’s quite refreshing isn’t it …

I got one today but can’t seem to get it pair to the EDGE.
Tried battery and usb power within a foot of the vera. I can feel the button clicking but I see no change in lights on vera nor does it show it finding anything in the UI.
On usb the light just keeps cycling threw the rainbow with no change when I push the button.
On battery power the light comes on for a bit but then goes off and never comes back on even when button is pushed.
What do you guys think?
EDIT: Well it seems according to the instructions that on battery I should get some light changes after pushing the button which I don’t. I’m going to guess DOA.
I spent countless hours trying to get the Multisensor 6 working on my Vera lite UI5 1.5.622. It would add but came up as a single generic device. It was completely unusable, even after manually setting the device type, so I removed it.
Have finally upgraded my Vera lite to UI5 1.5.672, and added the sensor. It came up straight away as 5 separate sensors: Motion, Humidity, Temperature, Light and a generic sensor with no value.
Can anyone tell me what teh generic sensor would be and what device type to set it as?
