Wifi Bridge Issues

LimitlessLED Wifi Bridge v5.0 is now released on limitlessled website. This new version is 100% stable on all known home networks. Sorry there is no firmware upgrade available for existing wifi bridges. You can now set a TCP timeout, set a Fixed IP, disable cloud server long polling, and back due to popular demand is the web admin via browser.

Cheers,
Hamish.

Hello to all,

I am not (yet) a Vera user, but this was the only forum where I found some support for the milight/limitlessled protocol.

I have flashed the bin file posted in Reply #133 to this thread, but now I am not able to detect the milight wifi bridge through my phone app or even through the v.5 admin tool from LimitlessLED.

I also can’t find the bin file for the original firmware (V1.0.04a-JCY-1) anywhere. Can please someone send it to me or post it here? I would be very thankful.

Best regards,

Andre

PS: i can access the config page from my browser, though. I don’t think flashing the correct firmware will be a problem.

“there is NO firmware upgrade available for existing LimitlessLED wifi bridges.” Please do NOT upgrade your firmware as mentioned by earlier posts by fredpery. It WILL brick your wifi bridge. we have had a few customers attempt it recently based on posts in this thread., with no way to restore. LimitlessLED v5 Wifi bridge are perfectly stable, please grab one of those instead. thanks.

-Thanks,
Hamish.

I just started with Vera yesterday, so although I’ve read through much of this thread, I’m still not too familiar with the system yet.
I have the following:

  • Milight bridge (v4 black label)
  • VeraEdge
  • Apple Time Capsule (Airport/hard drive)
  • 3 RGBW strip lights

I was able to get the Wi-Fi bridge configured using an iPhone and the milight app, grouping all 3 lights together with control via the iPhone app.
I then added the MiLightRGBW app to my Vera configuration. On install, there was an error that no IP address was provided.
I used a network scanner to find the IP (10.0.1.40) and appended what I believe is the port number (:8899) and Mac address of the Milight and entered this information into the “Advanced” tab within the MiLightRGBW settings.
I then restarted Luup.
The ip address error went away and a notification that the device is now responding.
When I use the MiLightRGBW controls (On, Off, Dim, Color, Mode, etc) nothing ever happens to the actual lights. I see no error dialog messages within the Vera dashboard.

Any idea why the MiLightRGBW controls don’t work?

try the LimitlessLED iphone app on the appstore, its faster, and gives a better reading on the mac address and ip address. Also try the Windows7/8/10 configuration tool on the limitlessled.com homepage it can scan the network, create a fixed ip address for the wifi bridge, and it can check signal strength among a raft of other options.

Cheers,
-Hamish.

Thanks, i was able to get the ip and I got some functionality.
Adjusting colors works ok.
However, the Off command appears to simply dim all but the white channel. Therefore, “Off” causes the lights to simply turn white. The dim fuction does the same.

In addition to “Off” not working, the “On” command turns the lights red.
The MiLight remote and iPhone app work fine.
???

I’ve received a Milight Wifi bridge with remote and 4 contoller, but I have a problem with the wifi bridge.

Configuring the Wifi key using iOS app works. After reboot of the bridge, the app sees the bridge but I cannot control any group. The wifi bridge doesn’t react on any command.

Also these commands will not work: echo -n -e “\x42\x00” | nc -u -q 1 192.168.100.15 8899 # set all ON

What could be the problem?

Goodmorning everyone,

someone has already managed to use the Ibox 2 V6.0 of Milight with Vera plugin more UI7? I via a fantastic plugin that can operate the Ibox 1. I am in possession of two Ibox 1 and two Ibox 2. You can do the firmware dowgrade of Ibox 2? Thanks for the great work you do.

Did anybody got to get the new Ibox 1&2 controller working with Vera… It seems that’s the only models available on the market.

I can only run the Ibox 1, they are the only ones that work with the real plugin.

I bought a Milight Ibox1 bridge. Works with android. I can not make it work with the MiLightRGBW plugin. What settings should I make? I have attached the plugin settings.

Hi TMC,
please posted a picture of your milight Ibox.

this is how it looks …

I did not get it to run and I bought two old bridge models … I’m sorry I can not help you.

Thanks asino123
What model works and where to buy?

Nice question I bought 4 bridge with sw version lower than v6. I’ve been trying on ebay by sellers who still have them in stock. Look at this link http://iqjar.com/jar/configuring-the-milightlimitlessledeasybulb-wireless-bridge/ here you see the box that has the black label. With those boxes the system goes great. Count that I use 4. Hello

I also have this model. Both bought from China. Should they be manufactured in another country?

No manufacturer is the same as the firmware version and if you have an Android phone you can notice that your boxes are controlled with the milight 3.0 app while those I say with the milight 2.0 app. Hello

Hi asino123
what do you think about this?
