UI7 ▾ Vera Software Update ▾ Version 7.0.26 (1.7.1028/1.7.3797/1.7.3798/1.7.3799

Interestingly, my automated and motion activated scenes are still working even though my vera appears to be bricked. I’ve tried everything in this thread with no luck. Sent a note to tech support and hopefully they can get me fixed up.

I cannot seem to find the urls for upgrading. I did it the other day with my edge and now that I want to upgrade my light – cannot for the life of me find the urls. Anyone ?

You sir are a brave man… or very stupid ;D :o :-[ :-\

Maybe this depends on the controller. I upgraded plus and edge, plus has issues, edge works fine.
In Plus’ case the problem is also memory, but not the “operational” but “system” reserved (those folders which have ridiculously small space limit of 10MB). I don’t have THAT much plugins or devices and I’m getting about 90% of the limit. When it reached 96%, controller started choking and reporting as offline or not processing data from sensors or switches.

I did full reset (also with issues, it helped to log directly to the controller via its WiFi (strangely I couldn’t do it over 2,4G but on 5G it worked) and resetting that way. Then I restored backup done on Beta (Z-wave chip was already upgraded by CC long before beta) and it works since yesterday without issues.

As I see, controller didn’t do any automatic backups since that (reported already here by someone else), but that’s probably better than non-restorable backups done every couple of minutes, as it was before.

Hello, tell me how do I get the firmware 1.7.3532? I have my controller after the update does not work. I apologize if not clearly written, I use the Google translator. I’ve done reset and restore from backup several times, but it still doesn’t work like it used to. I’ve been using Vera Plus for almost 1 year and have always enjoyed and advised it to many, but now I’m very disappointed and don’t know how to be. In my house there is no lighting anywhere and other devices.

Likely - but

The edge went fine and the old lite only has a couple of devices – and I want to add fibaro sensor 2 to it.

BUT – there are no links on the release notes page so (not shouting) ANYONE KNOW WHERE THE LINKS ARE?

I’m driving 140 miles to the other vera today and would like to try the upgrade “in person” versus remote – for obvious reasons.

Earlier in this thread, a commenter posted that Vera management had withdrawn the update because of all the problems.

My bad – I’d got the link the first time through from the official notice. Which of course did not mention the link withdraw.

Looks like Vera are up to their old tricks (again … and again … and …)

Though to be fair, withdrawing is better than their ploy of trying to tell us there is no problem.

One wonders when they will learn or if they will ever learn… fundamentally poor management.

Try checking in “firmware” section of your controller, in web interface

 1. Controller is offline now. can only access via local network
 2. message stating " cannot write user data- system error - waiting to upload"
 3. cannot enable remote support.

what to do now?
I had all of these same issues on the last beta and now on this release as well. All three issues have to do with the internal storage filling up. I had to contact support and they had to SSH into my unit using my computer via remote and they removed all of the zwave firmware files for other countries to free up enough space to get things working again. The problem is that for some reason the next day these files reappear (re-download?) automatically and the issue is back. I ended up removing the DataMine 2 plugin and deleting associated files just to free up more space. I think these lates firmwares are using significantly more space than previous versions. Right now I can live without Datamine even though I love having that info. Other than that everything seems to be working okay. :-
So a quick followup to this…I was able to replace all the other region firmware files with blank text files with the same names (i.e. zwave_zm5304_fw_6.01_cn.hex etc.) and they were not replaced last night like they are when I completely delete them. This freed up almost 2mb of extra space giving me plenty to reinstall DataMine 2 plugin again. Not sure why these files are forced back when removed but at least has solved my problem (until the next release at least :-).
Just got my problem fixed by support. They downgraded both the Zwave chip and software back to the previous version.

While that was happening they got a message from VERA management withdrawing this latest code. I.E. This code is no longer available, as it has too many bugs.

My box is once again working with all the ZWave devices. I’m now back at VeraPlus version 1.7.3532.

So I suspect if your having the same problem I was having you will need to get VeraSupport to downgrade your code, and Zwave chip firmware for you.
So glad I did NOT update my Verasecure when given the chance a couple days ago. I’d have been !@#$!@ off. Back in January I updated my VeraEdge and most of my devices stopped working or worked very slowly with errors up the ying yang. I reset the VeraEdge twice and re-added my devices with no luck so I purchased a Verasecure and added all my devices. So glad I didn’t update my Verasecure. Oh and I read there is beta frimware fix for my Veraedge…really??? Vera needs to get their act together. I may give up and run a Z-Stick Gen 5 on a PI or in Docker on a Synology ahpgao

I made the switch at the right time. I deleted a zwave device today and the plus went into luuap reload nonstop. Can’t reset it. Took advantage of the sale yesterday, Moved almost all devices over today and have some things going. Bye. >:(

Can you provide list of names and where they can be found?
I think I will need such solution sooner than later :frowning:

I have attached the files I now have in the etc/cmh-zwfw folder. Freed up a significant amount of space. I replaced the same files that support erased when they remote SSH into my system after I had the initial issue. Problem is that they reappear at midnight every day if they are missing. I am on a Mac so I used RBrowser to SCP the files over. On windows machines I believe you can use WinSCP.

Another plugin which is nowadays pre-installed is Amazon Alexa Helper. You can uninstall both, but they reappear almost immediately >:(

Just to chime in with a success story, I upgraded my VeraPlus to 26 with no problems at all. Further, the interface and the iOS app feel way faster and devices are more responsive when receiving commands. For me, a very worthwhile upgrade.

Fantastic to hear - as an IT guy used to modern devices having extremely fast UIs, the insanely slow UI of Vera has been an incredible frustration for me (you don’t buy something in 2018 expecting it to perform slower than a Commodore 64 in 1984). Looking forward to trying it out when the present stability issues are resolved.

I always upgrade my test VP system first. It normally has no devices installed other than ALTUI and SysMon. It upgraded with no problems and, as has been mentioned by others, seems to have a much more responsive UI. I added two Z-Wave Plus devices as a test—a Monoprice 4-in-1 sensor and an Aeon Smart Switch 6. Based on previous experience, both devices were less than a foot from the VP during inclusion. The system went into include mode virtually instantaneously and the entire inclusion, key exchange and configuration happened in a few seconds for each device with no problems. This is much different than in earlier firmware releases, especially during key exchange. Whether this is due more to the new Z-Wave 6.1 firmware, or improvements on Vera’s end, or both, the system performance is much better than earlier versions. Both devices are rock solid and the test system has been up for over a week.

I have a scene that turns on the Smart Switch if motion is detected, certainly a common Vera use case. The response seems instantaneous, similar to a normal non-Z-Wave motion sensing wall switch.

UPDATE: Backups started working normally on May 7. I’ve been on the road since May 6, so just noticed this morning. Either the problem was in the Vera cloud backend, or they stealth updated my system, or it magically fixed itself. :-\ @kwieto—weren’t you seeing the opposite—far too many backups?

Are you still on 3798?
