I still get the prompt everytime I log on to the plus. This makes me very nervous. As I stated a week ago I had a switch fail that I replaced and lost all my devices and a backup would not work.. OK update to this my Plus now no longer prompts for FW update as of about 30 min ago. 13:52
Are some of you saying you did not manually update vera but did it by itsself? And that after a reboot it was just bricked?
+1 for the support team
This is quite bonkers, I’m glad I’m not the only one who has had this issue - that said none of us should have this issue.
Luckily I’ve been backing up after even the smallest change and the restoration process still works quite well.
This is normal unfortunately, it’d be great if the backup contained the network config but Im just glad it grabs everything else.
That said, one of the reasons I was so steamed up after the latest 7.30 “Glitch” was when I restored my VP, all of my Aeotec Dual Nano’s had their config’s overwritten to the defaults, despite the config’s still showing. As I use Momentary Switches I had to manually reconfigure everything.
The weird part was everything looked normal so I had to change every single Switch back to Toggle mode and then back to Momentary mode to restore normality.
Looks like the backup (or restore) is somewhat selective…

I’ve successfully completed about 1/2 a dozen restores in the past few weeks testing FW and this is the first time it’s messed with the config of my Z-Wave switches. Strangely it was only the Dual Nano’s that got messed up, all my other single Nano’s and Smart Switches were unaffected.
Which makes me think: Were they actually being restored previously? Or are they not being restored now?
In any event, something must be not as it seems

You’re not alone. I have a couple of fibaros messed up as well. I just set automatically configured to 0 for the time being and I was good to go. I tried with the beta, I’m still out of town and never managed to update to the final release.
Good question, I’m honestly not sure.
7.30 really does deserve to be called a Catastrofcuk! (Credit to Aidan Millward for inventing the word).
Luup engine is not that bad, but I truly hope they will listen and release new versions with less new features and more frequently.
The main issue is they ignored us Beta testers who told them 7.30 had major issues, they then released a completely untested version straight to “production”, hence the great 7.30 Charlie Foxtrot we have now.
Thanks @dJOS for confirming what’s “normal” about a restore. Yeah, I was definitely pleased 99% of the settings and device configs were back to normal.
Keep in mind, I had NOT installed 7.30. Has anyone else running 7.29 done a reboot and experienced the reset? (EDIT: Since 7.30 was pulled)
Yes still on 7.29 and not experiencing any interference. 7.29 is the stable version so far.
I did the reboot on my remote Vera (wifi connected to the network) as I had issues with Netatmo station not responding to the controller.
After the reboot everything is as it was before.
I’m running 1.7.4453
That is not the troublesome 7.30 FW.
Yes I know, but the question was about issues running 7.0.29, which I is 1.7.4453
You are in the wrong topic then.
Not really. Look for the post from GaryOkie avove. He is asking precisely about the 7.0.29.
