@dJOS Good luck! I ran into the same problem, even after doing a factory reset. 7.30 FW is the gift that keeps on giving!
Not kidding, Unbelievable!!!
well, at least the forum is alive now… well, forum, this topic
Yes, it does appear that a reboot may cause factory reset. Yesterday, I had difficulties in getting my 7.0.30 VP to show online status and connecting via the app so first I reboot it via SSH and it didn’t improve, then I power-cycled it and voila, factory reset! Like that!
Off, course I had done a full backup before I tried any of this and it restored just fine. Fortunately, that’s something that is working very well, backups and restores.
Hello, can anyone confirm that the firmware was withdrawn from servers?
I see it is not advisable to install it, nevertheless I don’t see even such option.
Yes for the Plus and I expect the Secure it has been pulled on the same day as it got released, so you will not be prompted for an upgrade right now. For the Edge it is still out there.
Thanks for the info
I have Edge only as a backup unit, not powered on for a year or so. I think I’ll wait with the upgrade till I’ll be able to get same level on all units, then.
Vera Support restored my (1.7.4833) brick to the following build → You are running the latest version 1.7.4783 (7.30)
Hi @korttoma, that is a 7.30 Beta version I have running for a while (without problems).
Yeah I know, both 1.7.4783 and 1.7.4800 was running just fine for me to.
I just noticed that there is a link for build 1.7.4819 in this thread, have not tried that one yet:
https://community.getvera.com/t/ui7-beta-software-update-version-7-0-30-veraprotect-bundle/210978
everything is the same as on 4833 for Vera Secure
Same here. Filed a ticket yesterday and not a peep yet.
I got respons an hour ago! Waitng for telesupport.
oh lord this is a disaster
I’m running 1.7.4819 on my V+ and other than a rough upgrade where support had to reinstall OpenWRT, it seems to be operating fine.
SO glad i didn’t pull the trigger on this one (when has it ever been as accurate a metafore than now)…
My VW multimedia system occationally gets an update, then using an USB with an image… Mabye that would be a safer way of updating someting as critical as the Kernel?
I did my VeraSecure upgrade yesterday morning, so that model was still available then.
So I installed 1.7.4833 (7.30) on my plus about 4 or 5 days ago. So far no issues but I am not assuming I am out of the woods. What issues if any have manifested after a success install on the plus. Should I take it out of service, power it off until this is sorted out or will a reboot cause issues as well?
I have two Vera Plus systems running 7.29 that continue to redirect immediately to the Firmware Update page upon login saying that my systems are running the latest. It’s odd that they now default to that as the initial page, but I assume it’s temporary until the fixed 7.30 firmware is released.
However, they were running quite sluggish so I rebooted them both. And OH NO… they BOTH reset to a factory default/ new setup wizard mode!
Called customer support and they answered right away. We restored from a backup and fortunately everything came back just fine, except for the network/wifi configuration. The Wi-Fi radios were turned back on along with automatic network config, instead of my manual/static IP.
Maybe this has nothing to do with the pulled 7.30 update, but it seems beyond coincidental that two separate V+ 7.29 systems rebooted to factory mode.
The issue here is upon reboot, the network monitor may kill your vera, factory reset it and go into christmas light mode. To avoid this, you can disable this program but you will then lose connection reliability with the mios cloud and therefore the mobile app/remote access.
Interesting. This is the alpha some of use tested with the older network monitor and the older kernel. It is the one which worked best without the directory and partition rearrangement.
Support must be very busy!!! While they recover all these units, we should be grateful for their work…
