Support for Heatmiser WiFi Thermostats

Nath

The thermostat itself is programmable (7 day or 5/2 schedule) so the plug-in doesn’t have scheduling built in. There’s an override function though, direct from thermostat, from Vera and from the iPhone/iPad/Android apps. This enables you to override the programme with a new setpoint for a specified time. The plug-in supports On/Off/Override/Frost modes, time sync with Vera and set-unset Keylock.

Hello, i beggining in Z wave with a VeraLite. i discovering than wifi heatmiser can be support or managed by a plug in for Vera?
How to find and test it please ?
My therm works fine in Lan config or web remote or via Android App.
I can give config to help you to setup if you need.
Thanks
Phil

cheers alan, i owe you and theolsen a pint ;D

The problem is my wife and I work shifts so we want something that is really flexible. I guess I could set it the night before if it is that easy. I think I just need to order one and get it plugged in and have a play

If you and your wife both have smartphones there are several apps you can use which will tell Vera if you’re home or not. You could then use Vera scenes to override the usual thermostat programme, not heating the house if you’re both out.

Even more sophistication can be added if your phone can tell Vera how far away you are, then switch on the heating when you’re on the way home.

Alternatively, the Heatmiser smartphone app makes it very easy to adjust the programme remotely if needed.

Did someone say pint?

Hope it works out for you mate…let us know what you decide. Further to what Alan said, have you looked at PLEG? you can set all your scheduling smarts there if you don’t want to use the HM onboard schedules.

1 x Vera 3, 1 x RFXtrx433E and 1 x Heatmiser Wifi sat in their boxes waiting for me to play with them in my new house
Alan, I would very much appreciate a copy of your plugin if you wouldn’t mind.
I have a good bit of fun ahead getting the RFX to talk to the Vera 3 and then onto some of my old Home Easy light kits but would love to get my thermostat hooked up.

Thanks.

Hello all,

Is there someone else willing to help me with a copy of the Heatmiser Wifi plugin?

Thanks.

Benny

I’ve been busy over Christmas. I’ll PM you.

Hi Racarter,

No problem, wasn’t meant to be rude, just a little eager to play with te new toy ;D

Cheers.
Benny.

Hi Alan (racarter),

I have been reading through this post with great interest as until now I have found no easy way to get Vera to control underfloor heating.

Been looking at the ProWarm ProTouch IQ Electric Underfloor Thermostat:

http://www.theunderfloorheatingstore.com/prowarm-protouch-iq-electric-underfloor-thermostat---arctic-white-8059-p.asp

which looks like a re-branded Heatmiser Neo.

Do you think your plugin will support this unit? I have a Vera 3 running UI7. If so can I please have a copy?

Thanks,
Peter Hart

PeterSHart - From reading the Neo online manual I’d say that the non-WiFi version of the plug-in (see mios app store) might be more suited for adaptation to the Neo system. My Wi-Fi plug-in is intended for single Wi-Fi thermostats, whereas the Neo is a networked system similar to the type supported by the non-WiFi plug-in (which was not written by me), connected to your LAN via wired Ethernet. Neo seems to use the standard Heatmiser protocol but will require additional coding for node addressing, which my Wi-Fi plug in does not currently have.

Racarter, I have the PRT-ETS & would be interested in trying out your wifi plugin, when you have a few minutes (& I appreciate that you are likely to have better things to do on New Years Eve than spend it on this forum  so am not expecting a reply today) would you be able to forward me a copy? Thanks a lot.

EliteAV - I’ve PMed you.

Potential users of this plug-in should be aware that I have not tested it on UI7.
