Ok, thank you. It works fine with my electric heated floor thermostat.
No any issues at all.

For anyone using Heatmiser wi-fi thermostats, please read this:
http://cybergibbons.com/security-2/heatmiser-wifi-thermostat-vulnerabilities/
and make sure you turn off port forwarding to it on your Internet routers. Massive security vulnerabilities that leak information and control to any malicious actor.
After disabling port-forwarding, anyone with a Heatmiser WiFi thermostat should register their e-mail address by contacting security@heatmiser.com. Heatmiser will then e-mail you with two options: they will either send out a replacement front panel with new firmware, and on receipt of your old front panel send you a cheque for ?30 to compensate for the inconvenience, or they will issue a full refund if you’d rather just return the thermostat and use another brand.
Thanks again for the email, without it I would have been blissfully unaware having bought mine from another store.
Hi You’ve mentioned above that you think the plug in should work with the Heatmiser NEO (which I think is the replacement for the Heatmiser PRT-WTS).
has anyone used the plug in with heatmiser NEOs? Do you need to buy the Heatmiser hub? Doens’t the Heatmiser NEO work on a mesh network 868Mhz like z-wave but the PRT-WTS work on wifi 433Mhz?
I cannot find z-wave compatible wired (non-battery powered) thermostats for a multi-zone underfloor heating system anywhere. The only wired thermostats I can find that can be controlled by an app are the heatmiser ones, so I was intrigued when I found this thread with a VERA plug-in.
I liked the UI of the FIBARO unit mainly because it would be much easier for my wife to use but FIBARO currently doesn’t have the cability of operating heatmiser thermostats. Is there a way of improving the UI for VERA? EVen if the initial setup is painful I can bear that if the everyday use via a suitable app is much more user friendly for the whole family.

I didn’t say ‘should’, I said ‘might’ - but looking in more detail at the Neo online manual I’d say that the non-WiFi version of the plug-in (see mios app store) might be more suited for adaptation to the Neo system. My Wi-Fi plug-in is intended for single Wi-Fi thermostats, whereas the Neo is a networked system similar to the type supported by the non-WiFi plug-in (which was not written by me), connected to your LAN via wired Ethernet. Neo seems to use the standard Heatmiser protocol but will require additional coding for node addressing, which my Wi-Fi plug in does not currently have.
Regarding the user interface, Vera is what it is, but you can add separate UIs such as the O2 Joggler or an iOS or Android tablet running one of the many mobile clients available to control Vera remotely.
If you’re only looking for remote control of the thermostats without additional Vera functionality, Heatmiser offers apps for iOS and Android which may do what you need.
Hi RACarter,
Having just entered the world of Vera, but having had a Heatmiser PRT for a couple of years I would be grateful for a copy of the plugin please.

GC - I’ve PMed you.

Hi Racater,
I’ve just got my veralite up and running and I’d like to get my Heatmiser Wifi working with it. When you have a chance I’d appreciate it if you could PM me with the program.
Thanks, Mitch
Hi - would be really grateful if you could send me a copy of the plugin
thanks,
Dan
Mitch and Dan - I’ll PM you.
If we get the new Thermostat back from Heatmiser with the new firmware, will the plug in still work with the web interface disabled by default?
Yes. Mine arrived about 10 days ago and it’s been working perfectly.
brilliant, thank you. And presumably if the router isn’t forwarding ports to the units, then their ridiculous lack of security doesn’t matter.
Hi this looks like a great plugin and just what I need to control my electric underfloor heating.
I am unable to source a prt ets wifi in the UK, i can only find the rf version which appears to come with a separate control box. Does the prt-ets wifi only have the one panel, and the mains, thermostat and load all plug in to the one panel. If so this is just what I need, but just cannot find one.
Does anyone have any idea where I can get one from the UK from?
Cheers
Nath
Hi Nath
I’ve PMed you a link.

Hi Nath, I have the rf version and it works perfectly with this brilliant plugin.

Hi theolsen
I already have them flooring installed and as such don’t want to have to put the control unit on the wall as well as the display unit I think it could look unsightly , as the unit is on the wall in the bedroom for the en suite floor.
Alan has pointed me in the right direction for the wifi version but it’s blooming expensive
Does anyone know if heatmiser do a wired unit that I could run a network cable to that I can integrate with the vera, that’s cheaper than ?140 !!
Thanks guys for your help so far
Nath
Ah Gotcha Nath,
I put the RF unit under the floorboards so it’s invisible. I made a little panel that I can lift out if it ever needs servicing.
I’m pretty sure HM don’t do anything hard wired but I could be wrong.
Though ?140 is cheaper than most alternatives once you consider the necessary components.
You could forget HM completely I suppose and pop the UFH on a Z-Wave relay and then have a Z-Wave thermostat in the En Suite but I think you would be getting close to the price point anyway. Also you wouldn’t get to use Alan’s plugin.

good plan, but all of the carpet and wardrobes are already installed, so don’t think i’d be too popular if i started ripping everything else back up ! Guess you are right I need to stop being tight!
With Alans plugin can I set a schedule ?
