Shlage Lock "Door is Opened" Event

I currently have an event in a scene setup to notify me when my patio gate is opened (via a Schlage Lever lockset). That seems to work fine - I receive a notification whenever someone enters a PIN code and unlocks the lever. However, the event type I’m using is “A Door is opened or closed” as opposed to “A PIN code is entered.”

Here’s my question - does the “A Door is opened or closed” event trigger even if the interior lever is actuated manually, meaning if someone hopped over the wall, and opened the gate from the inside, would I still get a notification? Or does that notification only occur when the lock is electronically activated either by entry of a PIN code on the outside or by pressing the “Unlock” button on the inside?

And a follow-on question…if someone enters a PIN code to open the lock, and I have two events setup, one for “A PIN Code is Entered” and another for “A Door is Opened or Closed”, will I receive two notifications, or does one event override/supersede the other?

No! the lever lock only reports if the locking mechanism is activated, either by the buttons on the interior or the keypad.

However you can use a door sensor to accomplish this for you or you can use the new Kwikset deadbolt that outomatically will lock the deadbolt after 20 plus seconds after it is unlocked ( a dip switch setting)
