Home automation enthusiast, definitely not an expert. I got into this “hobby” solely from a desire to remotely manage my second home’s thermostat (back in the days before wi-fi smart thermostats), and it snow-balled from there. I’m all about making HA invisible and idiot-proof (often a big challenge) and, while I’m willing to tinker to get the functionality I need, I definitely prefer everything to just work out of the box.

I’ve been a loyal (and patient) Vera user for 14+ years, currently running two VeraPlus units. In one home, the setup is pretty basic, with approximately 20 devices and a few scenes, and integrated with Google Home. In my second home, I’ve got close to 100 devices with a lot more automation, and integrated with Alexa. It’s now time to consider moving to the Ezlo units - I’m just trying to determine my appetite for all the early-adopter headaches (not to mention the migration work).
