i flashed mine and it worked great, i found this at radioshack in Fashion Mall, Orlando, paid $25 for it ;D
…I did have the settings wrong in the NorthQ Maintainance utility.
I was using the LAN setting, instead of the Internet setting, once I set it to Internet, I can see it in the NorthQ Monitor Manager…
Hi there!
First post!
I was hoping you could help me out. I just got a bunch of these from a Radio Shack in my area and I got them all flashed and working just fine as stand alone Cams. They work in the browser and on my remote Apps in android.
What I can’t seem to get going is the Monitor software. They just don’t recognize my cams. Can you please post up what you did specifically to get these going? I have tried several ways and they just don’t add to the app. I am sure I am just missing a tiny little thing.
Thank you so much for your help!!
This may or may not be helpful to anyone else… but I didn’t have a machine in my house with Windows XP running directly on the box and couldn’t get it to work under compatibility mode.
I was able to upgrade 3 cameras from Windows XP running under virtualbox with a Bridged Network adapter (basically the VM get’s an IP directly from your router). I disabled the firewall and virus scanner as well.
First of all, thanks for discovering how to do this! I happened to have one of these cameras and it’s great that it can work with Vera.
I have it configured. If I hit the ip address, i see video just fine. No audio but I’m not terribly worried about that at the moment. I also downloaded the generic plugin and did the small bit of configuration suggested. Path, IP address and User/Pass. When looking at the camera in mios, I get a snapshot now and then. There is no regularity to it.
My question is, what is supposed to happen? Should I see streaming video through mios on the device like I do if I hit the web site?
Secondly, I added a camera to SQ Remote but when I try to assign it, there are no camera devices that show up under my vera device? Should i be able to select it if it’s showing up in mios? What would the expected behavior be in SQ Remote if i were to get it to work?
Thanks so much all, I’m fairly new at this.
Craig
So, now it’s working much more like I’d expect. It seems that through Mios, the camera takes snapshots and if I walk around the room, It almost looks like video. I’m not sure if it’s taking a bunch of snapshots or if I’m getting choppy video. Mostly, i just want to know what I should expect to see on the device in the Mios dashboard.
With respect to SQ Remote, it seems like I often try to add a device and it just doesn’t show up. I think it’s because it’s filtering based on the control panel chosen? What I did do that seems to work quite well was to create a web control panel for the camera and use the address: http://camera IP/img/video.mjpeg – Then I get streaming to my iPad through SQ Remote. I don’t know if this is the optimal way to go about this and that’s really what I’m looking for.
If I had a camera with controls, I’m not sure I’d have access to them this way either.
Does anyone know where I can get the Schlage firmware? I spent a lot of time on Google and could not find the actual firmware anywhere. I have one of these cameras(same hardware) from another vendor and I want to try flashing with the actual Schlage firmware.
Any help would be very appreciated!
How bout this thread?

Here is the application you’ll use to flash the firmware on the device:
http://www.everbesthk.com/8-downl...207_XP.zip
This is the compatible firmware to flash onto the unit:
http://www.northq.com/download/90...6.1009.zip
Do you really mean the original Schlage firmware, that works with the Schlage bridge and a subscription?
(If not, see @Henk’s response.)
I finally received my Vera2 ;D and have been moving away from Schlage this weekend. The last thing to do is reflash these cameras (3 total).
My problem is, I installed the software just fine and the software sees my camera but within seconds of hitting “update” my windows 7 and Vista machines both blue screen out. Has anyone ran into this problem? Solutions?
Try running the update app in compatibility mode by right clicking the .exe file > properties and then on the compatibility tab select XP by checking the box marked “run this in compatibility mode for”
That might work for you!
Edit: Thanks strangely. I thought I only needed to run compatibility mode while installing. Worked like a charm after opening the file location and making sure to run in compatibility mode.
did anyone ever find out what was up with the cameras trying to call home when flashed to the other firmware?
I have wondered the same thing, thought it does not effect performance so I am sure just blocking that port will solve any privacy concerns.
Question. Trying to view the cameras through Vera is unbearable. After setting up DNS forwarding, how do you view the camera’s outside of your network (ie from work or mobile)?
I’ve not been able to get the Setup utility to work on two different XP SP3 computers. It self extracts to 99% and then locks up. Any suggestions or alternatives would be appreciated.
Got it to work on a Vista machine running compatibility with XP SP2 mode as admin.
Next problem is that I can’t log in. I’ve got static IPs and I’ve disabled antivirus / firewall. Still wont accept administrator / blank as login. These are new cameras so they haven’t been modified. Any suggestions?
Also, should I be using the generic plug in with Vera or the Panasonic. I’ve got teh wired version of the cameras.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Great to hear.
Are you logging into the camera through a browser or the included monitoring software?
You want the generic profile. Once added to vera in settings type:
Url img/snapshot.cgi?size=5&quality=5 (play with the numbers 1-5 for size and quality)
Username Blah
Password Blah123
MAC Leave Blank
IP address Your version of 192.168.1.62:80 (make sure to type the port number after the IP address)
In the advanced tab:
DirectStreamingURL /img/video.mjpeg
URL /img/snapshot.cgi?size=2&quality=1 (play with the numbers 1-5 for size and quality)
Username Blah
Password Blah123
Awesome, getting closer for sure thanks to your help. When I’m in the settings and do what you’ve said I get a live image when I click the streaming button in settings. All the others tell me delivery failed. I also don’t see how to save the settings because when I go out them back into the dashboard - or refresh - everything I’ve entered is gone. Sorry if I’m being a noob, but it’s so close I can taste it but I’m getting frustrated.
Thanks again for any additional advice you may have.
Did you hit save on the top Right of your dashboard before refreshing?
The save kept the settings. Thanks!
Looks like I’m in business with the first one. Now I need to figure out how to get multiple cameras going. Am I correct in assuming that each needs to be assigned to a different port? I assume that’ll need to be a part of the static IP assigned in the router too, yes?.
Thanks again - this is awesome.
Can I view streaming video through MiOS? If so, what is the setting for the DirectStreamingURL variable?
