I own a Vera Plus and the RFX433E. I updated the FW of the rfx433E on my PC (running now 1014). And I installed the SOMFY plugin on Vera. But keep getting the assertive that I should choose the serial port of URTSI… Should I have uploaded the files contained in zip file before? I thought just the plugin would make it work. I thought the plugin would have all necessary files…
Really sorry if this is a stupid question. There is no step by step to install this and although I am trying to read all those documents, I am still having trouble on how to make everything work. By the way, I have somfy blinds (4), shades (2) and curtains (2)… Will I be able to control all of them? I have spent a lot on everything and would be devasted if not…

Well, finally I found this (somfy plugin steps - Somfy Plugin - MiOS) and reading it, my question remains: Should I install the zip files that has all the lua/loop codes? Because now I have the Somfy plugin discovered, found, and by default I suppose, two devices called blinds 1 and 2…

I am assuming uploading the files from the trunk is manual install and using vera market plugin is the automatic install… Am I right?
Assuming this is true, the plugin has a version 1.21 and there is a trunk and a thread of a 1.00. Which is the most updated?
And those 2 blinds that appeared automatically, they simply don’t work. So, I imagine they are like examples and not discovered automatically… So how to configure a new blind or shade?

I have tried to read a lot of information, but they seem to be for only programmers… And there is no consistency on them (some say baud 9600 others 38400)… And add they are old information, I mean, for UI5 and not UI7…
I don’t think the two apps are the same. The RFXCOM app available via the Apps → Install Apps tab in UI7 is different from the RFXtrx app you find at code.mios.com. The RFXCOM app may have been created by the folks at RFXCOM.com. I believe that the RFXtrx app is the most current but I don’t know what the difference is between the version at trunk and the version at beta3. In any event I don’t think any application for the RFXtrx433 is supported any more. If I’m wrong about this I hope someone else will respond.

Device Type: Window Covering
Device Name: Somfy blind
Id: 1
Unit Code: 1
I then click “create” and it comes up with a message in green “Vera will reload to validate changes…”
But it then just hangs - nothing happens.
Any advice on what I need to do please? Any guidance is appreciated.

im having the same issue, any help would be great!
Update - I logged a query with MiOS and they recommended a downgrade in the firmware. I have just downgraded from 1.7.3231 to 1.7.3014. Now I can at least create a new device to configure.
I do not think downgrading the unit will affect your current setup. If you experience any issue we can upgrade it back. To do this, please go to Settings > Firmware > Advanced: URL for custom Vera firmware. Copy paste the following link and hit Download. Let me know how It goes.
I also have the same problem since the firmware upgrade I cannot add any more devices also the will not delete any devices in the device manager menu .

Im hoping that someone of this forum can help me since after 2 days of messing around im becoming litte desperate…
I have 2 vera’s and working with the vera for 3 years now in combination with rfxcom. Nebver had any single problem (other than datmine filling up the storage but thats not the problem).
Now i tried to upgrade my vera device from veralite to vera edge. All went fine, all devices are transferred with exception of rfxcom app. I have (in the meantime) tried to install the app from mios like 5 times but are unable to get it to work with the device despite setting port, baud rate correct etc etc. Then i have downloaden alpha, beta, trunk 153 etc. walked the normal procedure of uploading files, restart luup, crate device and never a device is created on the vera edge (latest firmware for both edge as well as the rfxcom per today).
Hooking the rfxcom to my computer… works fine, connecting it with vera lite… works fine…
Maybe someone can post like the 5 steps togo through then ill give it some more shots…
1 thing is strange: in serial port configuration in menu develop apps of the vera i select the bottom line “used by device” i can see all the frx devices i made thus far but they dont show up on the devices menu…
Did you try that link i posted to wind the firmware on Vera Edge back? Worked for me - once all the devices were created and setup, I re-installed the latest firmware version and it all works perfectly.
