RFXcom on the Vera Edge

Just received the Vera Edga and I’m having problems to install the RFXcom plugin.
It is impossible to configure the serial port.
The message displayed:
Serial Port configuration
If you connected the USB/serial device and it’s not displayed here, reload Luup.Reload Luup
Not available

Any idea how to solve this?

Seems to be a major bug on veraedge, have the same issue with usb2serial devices.

Same bug for me, and also some others :-[ e.g. not possible to change setup for wifi… Waiting for a new firmware…

Anyone found a solution/workaround for this bug?
I would be so happy to get my RFXcom USB working on the Edge.

I Just bought a veraedge and I met the same issue; RFXCom was working on my Veralite Box; I sent a message to support;

Is this a incompatibility with the new Vera Edge and the USB connected RFXtrx433 transceiver, or are you referring to the RFXLAN transciever?

I was JUST about to order a Vera Edge but if I can?t use my RFXtrx433 it is a big no-no! :S

@n0ir → There are mayor issues with both USB devices and Network configurations on the new VeraEdge.
Believe me I’ve waited long time for my VeraEdge, but within a week I bought a Vera3 and I’m a happy camper now.
VeraEdge its back in its box until I read on this forum that all issues are fixed.

Regarding the RFXtrx App I’m not sure if it is UI7 compatible already.

Yes, it is.

 I confirm; RFX433 works well in UI7 (Veralite) but not with plugin shipped with vera hardware.
you can find plugin in beta3 here trunk – RFXtrx Gateway

But you have to install plugin manually

But I have a problem today with veraedge;

Seems like there is a new update fixing “On Vera edge the USB devices were not recognized”.

I have a new Vera Edge ordered and prayt that it will work with my RFXtrx!

It seems that USB issues is not corrected by the new firmware
Always asking me to choose the Serial Port, but no place to do that !

Same for me. I mailed support again to reopen my call on this issue and asked to fix it.

Same for me… (on my new Vera Edge)

Same with my new Vera Edge. Have mailed support but haven’t got an answer yet. Hoping to get a fix soon so I can start the migration to the new controller.

Not Fixed With Version 1.7.906 For VERAEDGE. Any News!!!

Everyone complaining about this needs to open a support ticket. If you don’t open a support ticket then the company will not prioritize this as an issue. They do NOT monitor these forums.

Yesterday Mios support dropped me a line:
"We apologize for the issues you?ve been encountering.
We?ve discovered an incompatibility in the usb drivers on the OpenWrt platform that is used by the Vera Edge.
Our colleagues from development are working on it right now and should release a patch and in the first weeks of January to fix this.
If you?ve been on UI7 for some time you?ve probably noticed that the interface has evolved over time, and each monthly update brings fixes along with improvements.
Thank you for your patience. "

This is pretty unbelievable product management. I can only imagine that a company ships such an untested product when in desperate need of cash before the Christmas sales.
Anyway I’m returning my Vera Edge to my kind supplier. My Raspberry PI Domoticz is back up and running again. Mios can learn a lot from this open source development.

Somebody can you help me!
I bought Vera Edge.
I have 4 pieces Conrad Fs 20 thermo valve in my house.
Can i transmit data (degree) to Fs 20 valve via Vera with Rfxcom?

FS20 is apparently a 868 MHz protocol and so not compatible with RFXtrx433E.

Today I get this from Vera support:

[i]I?ve reported the feature request in our internal tracker, and our developers will be looking into it. Once resolved it will be included into future software updates for your Vera controller.

You can always track fixes and new features added on our release notes page :

Anyone get any other answer?
