Panasonic tilt/pan/zoom wireless camera

I have a model BL-C230; every once in a while it blinks orange and it takes about 20 or so minutes to turn to a steady green light. When it is blinking orange, the camera stops functioning. I wonder if anyone has this experience. I wanted to know if this is normal. thanks.

Check your WiFi setup.

The orange light means you lost WiFi connectivilty. Green means the link was restored.

JOD.

I also have that camera. AFAIK, the camera’s wifi capability is unreliable. I’ve tried numerous APs with it and nothing helps. If you check around, you’ll find that the camera most probably has a firmware problem. If you use a physical cable, however, you’re good to go. I’m personally very disappointed in Panasonic and don’t think I’d purchase any more Panasonic products.

Gerenb, i agree with regarding the panasonic camera; it’s very frustrating. FOSCAM camera is only $119 vs $352 for panasonic camera. it’s got almost the same features. i think i will get a FOSCAM.

FYI, I’ve had a reliable wifi connection to my FOSCAM. Of course, it is only about 10-15ft away and through a ceiling from the wireless router. But I haven’t had an instance where it was inaccessible yet.

Although a little more money than Foscam, the Smarteye NC530 some added features and will work in Vera…
Looks almost the same (physically).

I also have a Panasonic BL-Cxxx camera and inevitably, after a couple of weeks, something happens and it drops its wireless connection, which is especially frustrating because this camera is in my vacation home, so I can’t get it back online until I’m actually next there. I’m definitely going to try a Foscam or SmartEye for my next camera purchase. Les F’s SmartEye looks like a good option…

Ok, it turns out the BL-C230 wifi problems can be resolved. It seems to be very touchy about which AP you use. The camera is rock solid and never loses its wifi connection now that I’ve replaced the Verizon Actiontec router with a Cisco/Linksys E3000.

i also have a verizon actiontec router. i will note down your new cisco/linksys e3000 router in my next router purchase.
