Regardless of it having the same specs as the VeraLite, the VeraLite G looks to be the same product that we saw the FCC filing for, right?

The VeraLite-G is just a VeraLite with Wifi added I believe.

The specs for processor, memory, etc are exactly the same as the current VeraLite, so regardless, there’s no point in buying one unless you want wifi incorporated into the unit (which most sensible folks don’t).

This is really sad… A VeraLight with Wifi is EXACTLY what we DON’T want… another variable to debug, just so you can locate your Vera in the garage?!?

Guys check this reply on the Vera https://www.facebook.com/veracontrol post from today (08-11-2014)…

The post is called:
“Great CE Pro write-up on Vera Control, Ltd. and MiOS powering the Homelive Smart Home Solution that went on sale last week in all Orange retail stores throughout France.”

There is a question and reply:

Q: Looking at the pictures, it seems to be the “new” Vera that has been speculated about on the forum, the one with the ZWAVE+ chipset. Can you confirm this?

A: Great question Benjamin. Yes, I can confirm the new VeraEdge is a Z-Wave Plus? controller, but it is not (as some have speculated) the HAB that Orange has deployed for Homelive.
We’ll announce full details on the VeraEdge next week. Stay tuned.
Cheers,
Colin Burke McClure ▾ Sr. Director of Product Development

What do you think of that?!

I think it’s a vera lite with with z-wave plus. Lacking in ram and hardware perfomance. And as far as the next week time frame… Yeah OK

https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=518837&fcc_id=P27NA301ZW

Well sleuthed, Sherlock.

I can’t take credit, all revealed on the forum a while ago… http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?topic=26451

This is the 3rd such thread that I remember.

I just pre-orded a Vera Edge ETA December 2014… keep you all posted.

From where?

I was hoping to see more DDR memory…
That’s the most serious limit on Vera … you can try to swap to the FLASH … but that memory is not really designed for LARGE # of write cycles.

Agreed. From what I can see and experienced with Vera, product planning has always been short sighted, both from the hardware and software side. Tis a shame.

Because of the # of usb ports and same mermory as the 3 it doesn’t seem like an upgrade to the 3 (besides z-wave plus).

Seems like only a veraLite upgrade, without a 3 upgrade in sight.

It’s almost here!! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PFGJZM8/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=veraedge_amzn_excl

Not much of an upgrade is it… ::slight_smile:
