Not sure if I like the idea, but…yeah, I guess it’s doable.
Agreed its not ideal. Could any antivirus be doing funny things on install or is the file your using corupt. Maybe try fresh download of zip file and install with no antivirus enabled to see if that helps? Better than tje re install of xbmc at this point
I don’t have antivirus running on that box, and I just cleaned the addon-db again. I also enabled logging, which returned the following lines

Strange so it is installing then auto un-installing after a reboot? that’s very odd. did you try downloading the file again just in case you have a bad .zip? Also may be worth a post over on the xbmc forum to try and see if others have experience similar scenarios with any other apps as there must be something causing for this to happen and it may not be app specific more over a wider systems clash of sorts? (e.g the same install and un install may have happened to other people with other apps that may help you work out the issue).
Just thinking aloud

The install/uninstall got me puzzled as well. Turns out they probably mean “initializing” and “uninitializing” - upon next XBMC start all plugins are “installed” and when exiting they’re all “uninstalled”.
oh okay - learn something new each day.
Hmmm so my last suggestion now then is to download fresh zip file. un install, clear our cache and all files relating to old install, reboot, install - cross fingers and hope for the bets.
after that maybe its time for a fresh xbmc install? :-/

Tried downloading it again and put it on the desktop of the xbmc computer instead of on the NAS. No luck. Guess I’ll have to note down which plugins I’m using, where I got the source and start over…
That’s a real pest but I cant think of another option to help you as the issue appears bespoke to your set up. Good luck
So what’s the status on the Can Not Detect error? Is this a UI7 issue that’s being resolved, and XMBCState issue or something else? I can add triggers to scenes run by the XBMCState virtual device but it doesn’t give me all the options (and then adds some I’ve not selected) in XBMC. but of course nothing happens when I execute those options in XBMC. So my understanding is that the Vera has the XBMCState plug-in enabled but it can’t detect XBMC at all and there for there’s no communication between the 2. Everything is set-up as it should be with all correct ip’s and MACs and UPnP and so on’s. Would love to get this resolved to be able to have some real fun…
Hi,
Just installed this plugin and it is working but not 100% as i would like to.
Cannot figure the following out:
how can i set vera to execute a scene when only a MOVIE is played, so not a TV-series?
I now have a scene running when a video is played, but i would only want that the scene is executed when i play a movie from the movie selection of xbmc, other video’s such as tv-series or other video’s which are not in the library as movie vera should do nothing…
a second question is regarding a menu option:
In the app menu in XBMC there is an option custom menu event, is there anywhere a manual how this section works? What are these WindowsID and how do they work, what can I do with it?
Hope someone can help…
How are others just now installing the plugin and having it work? Is there an updated version that requires removing the app or plugin and re-installing to get things to connect? Or is there some other issue I can’t figure out that’s not allowing things to talk to each other?
I can control XBMC through the XBMC app on a smartphone so I know I have connectability to the program.
Ok, so I finally got the add-on installed. Did a complete reinstall of my xbmc - but this plugin is worth it
Now, if I could only get some help with these questions. Bear in mind that I’ve only slept for three hours so if I did something completely retarded or overlooked something I’d appreciate it if you’d just point me out without making me feel more stupid than the lack of sleep already did
(yes, I know I haven’t set the add-on to use the day or night plugin/functionality - just trying to keep as few points of failure as low as possible )
Thanks!
Well I have no idea what I did while messing around with it last night but it seems I got the Vera to receive commands from XBMC. At the very least all the lights shut off when I played a video. Any video. But it’s a start.
Are there any guides to setting up Cinema Experience with the Vera now? That’s the ultimate goal of this all.
And like others… difference scenes played when watching a Movie, a Video and a TV Show would be great to.
Hi tiwas,
glad you made progress
you need to change state monitoring from no to yes on the xbmc state page. you have app state on but not the others etc. switch these to yes and you should be set.

Thanks - that seems to have done it Oh, and I didn’t see that the ID was supposed to be the ID of the XBMCState device on my Vera.
I got this setup on vera and two of my XMBC’s. All works great, I can see all the events, I have one cosmetic issue. Looking at others vera screen shots, I do not have the nice XBMC logo on each Device. I see it on the app, but not each Device. Anyone know how to fix this? I have version 1.1 of the app, I think it is latest. I attached what I have and what I have seen others have on this Blog
I figured this out, from another post. It is missing the file, I downloaded then uploaded to vera, works great…
iconxbmcstate.png and put put it in /www/cmh/skins/default/icons/

Hi Guys,
I’m pretty new here but have been doing lots of reading and learning. Up until now I have installed a DSC alarm in my house and 1 fibaro dimmer module.
What I’m looking to achieve is this. I have a cinema room that id like for the light to come on via a motion sensor but only when im not using my cinema with the projector on. The plugin XBMC state can do things like turning lights on and off when the player state changes - play, pause, stop, resume etc. It also has a ping state function ‘up’ meaning player on ‘down’ being player off.
Now im not sure if my logic is wrong or the plugin is broken so any help would be appreciated, here is my pleg:
Triggers
ItsNight - Day or Night indicates Night time.
LightOn - _Dimmable Light is turned on
Motion - Hallway Motion is tripped
XbmcOff - Down
Schedule
Timer - Self ReTrigger Interval 05:00
Conditions
AutoOn - !LightOn and ItsNight and Motion and XbmcOff and (!LightOn; Motion > 30)
KeepOn - (LightOn and Motion and (LightOn; Motion)) or AutoOn
AutoOff - LightOn and !Timer and (LightOn; !Timer) and (!LightOn; LightOn > 5)
Actions
AutoOn - Turn Light on
KeepOn - PLEG StartTimer timerName=Timer
AutoOff - Turn Light off
