New Plugin - XBMCState - Xbmc addon

I just picked up a veralite system for xbmc. I was able to get commands working with cinema experience addon, however i ran across this for general playback. I guess my new device has the latest firmware. When i install this addon, it just asked for an IP address in the advanced settings. I can’t find this anywhere on the web page? Any help would be appreciated.

You need the IP address of the Vera: it’s under Setup / Net & Wifi of your Vera’s dashboard, and the IP of the machine running XBMC which is under XBMC / System / System Info

Anybody was able to make this plugin work with UI7??
I just got my Vera and it has UI7, and it seems that it doesnt work.
Thanks.

I, too, just found this and am trying to get it working with UI7. All settings are done and veralite “sees” it but the scenes don’t fire. XMBC shows the add-on enabling without issue, also.

I’ve just setup a new Vera with XBMCState, have all the correct IPs in place and so on but Vera doesn’t connect to the device. I’ve tried closing the programs and rebooting but nothing. This is all new to me but generally I’m able to set hings like this up by following along with other people’s questions. There just doesn’t seem to be this question or response on here. Any ideas?

Hi All, I am trying this out with DVBlinik PVR plugin for XBMC. Would playing TV be classed as “Video Staring”? if not is there nay way to have XBMC state detect TV status as well as both video and music?

Thank you for a great plugin.

Any response from the developer of this pluggin would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi all,

I also have the app as showing “computer” as down all the time? any reason or thoughts why this may be?

Its working now!! I believe the developer has updated this plugin.
If that?s the case, thanks a lot.

Hi,

I found out my machine was not responding to ping’s - fixed this and now i get “up” showing - so an improvement there which is great.

I still get no movement on player or xbmc state though? i have select all options in the xbmc setting so i should get an update for everything if I understand it correctly.

I am using Gotham 13x - did I miss something?

I enabled upnp and now works - not sure of this was the fix or just a coincidence nut now works. Thank you.

I still can’t get the app to connect to XBMC. Just keeps giving a can not detect error. Not sure if I’ve enabled UPNP on this XBMC install or not so I will have to check that.

I’m using XBMC Gotham 13.2 on a Windows 8.1 machine and a new Vera Lite with the latest firmware. Once the connection is made I think I’ll figure most of the rest out but until then I’m stumped.

The “can’t detect device” is a general issue affecting most of plugins in UI7. We hope Vera will fix it. It exists a workaround to mask this error but it requires a change by the developer of the plugin. But your plugin should work even with this error.

I tried installing this - I used it before but lost it in an upgrade. Now was the time to get it back up and running…however, I cannot find it! XBMC (13.2) tells me it’s started up, but I cannot for the life of me find it. I’ve tried searching, I’ve gone through every category. Nothing.

Anyone able to help me out?

And yes - I’ve restarted xbmc, I’ve rebooted the box. I’ve tried installing several times…

Not sure how I can still use the plugin if it can’t detect the device. Sure, I can see the virtual device on the Vera UI but it doesn’t let me do anything other than enter the IP and such information. There are no options for triggers to have the Vera execute scenes on XBMC commands.

@tiwas,

are you using a fixed IP? Also enabling Upnp in setting helped me - no idea why but it made it stop crashing the script on the Xbox machine. Can you ping the IP it is looking for - if not resolve that first. I had that issue also - once fixed and upnp enable all was good to go.

Thanks, but…I cannot find it under add-ons on the xbmc box. It’s just not there even though the computer claims it’s starting.

In any case, yes I’m using a fixed IP and I can ping it. Will it not show up in the list of scripts if it crashes? I’m pretty sure upnp is enabled in xmbc…

how do you mean you cant find it? perhaps try reinstalling the zip file on xbmc and then looking in enabled and disabled pluguins - i think it is under programs.

That’s what’s got me puzzled - it neither under enabled nor disabled add-ons. I get a prompt about it being started, but it’s not in any of the lists. Not even if I use the search function under add-ons. I’ve also tried uninstalling it…is there a way to manually remove an add-on?

Ok, so I did some experimenting last night. I found the location of the installed add-on and removed it manually. Upon reinstalling it did not show up still. I then manually removed it and deleted the add-on databases to have xbmc rebuild it. This reset all my other add-ons, but reinstalling this one still didn’t do anything productive.

I’m kind of at a loss here, so any help would be appreciated!
