New Express Controls / New Homeseer Motion detector HSM200

Wondering how I can integrate it myself into UI5 using this data:
http://www.pepper1.net/zwavedb/device/621

Wouldn’t it be nice if Vera had an open database where manufacturers and home tinkerers can add support for devices and then instantly make it available for other users? We are approaching the 4 week timeframe since I let them into my vera to add the device, and their attempt at UI7 failed.

Any help would be great

Yeah, I wish MCV opened up their platform as they promised 6+ years ago (I know Z-Wave stack is proprietary, but you don’t need the stack, just the API for it)…

BUMP

Latest UI7 firmware apparently fixes this, anyone tried this yet?

I have two HSM200 and upgraded my Vera3 to version 1.7.51. I tried to first exclude and then include with no success, I can not get vera to include the sensors after pushing the button on the side of the sensor. I saw that Scathe added them via Generic Z-Wave wizard, I’ve yet to try… would have expected that the new version would have an errata on manually including the new sensors. Also when I use the wizard and look under the sensor tab I do not see the HSM200 as a valid sensor. I’m hoping that I’m a fluke…would like to get these new sensors working or move on to some other working sensor option.

I tried adding my HSM200 to my Vera Edge last night. I am only getting the light and temperature sensors to appear. They seem to work, but I don’t get a motion sensor (which was the whole point, for me).

Looks like the latest firmware is botched anyway, lots of bad reports on Vera Edge being unresponsive. COme on MCV, lets get this show on the road and start opening up your files so developers and users can create their own drivers instead of waiting and waiting for you guys.

Well, upgraded to the latest 1.7.541 and it seems to pair with the my HSM-200 (took a little while (several minutes) but I got three devices; motion, temp, and light that did not update right away took some time before value appeared for the temp and light. Question, I noticed that when I unplug/plug the sensor in that the light (light blue) turns on when motion occurs, however after some time I do not see the sensor turn on the light is this normal or should I change the configuration settings? MiKe

Bumping. Anyone have luck on U15 with this yet?

All–

To make the HSM200 work on UI5 won’t we need a new UI5 firmware release? Something after UI 1.5.622?

Don

Holy crap MCV!!! Fix this!

Another bump. Sadly this is yet to work at all other than light and temp. This device is one of the only US designers and manufacturers, one of the first Z-Wave guys on the block.

Im not sure how MCV messed this one up, they have had 5 of these for months, since december of 2014. As far as I can tell, there is no way it’s gonna work in UI5, I just updated to UI7 and although it pairs, its completely useless as a device until the fix it.

If you have these devices and have paid for them, I’d start asking MCV for their refund price since they have not lived up to their agreement that they would implement any device after 30 days. I got mine for a demo unit, so I can;t file a claim, but all of you can and MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, MCV will fix it in one day as soon as they see the flood of guarantee complaints come in.

Have you contacted support to see if they can help? They responded to my email the next day and even called me to try and get a smoke detector working.

I am going to take this route with my Leviton dimmers, which MCV still doesn’t have working on the Edge.

And what’s wrong with Leviton dimmers??? I’ve had them working for 7+ years w/o many problems!

They aren’t working on the Vera Edge in UI7. Specifically, they fail configuration with the following message: “Failed at: Please Wait! Getting the Manufacturer.”

Wow, sounds like a huge f*ck up with Edge… I’m still on Vera3/UI5 - some new devices don’t and won’t work, but at least the basics are all working and relatively stable…

I recently purchased the HSM200 sensor and although I could pair it, the veralite only picks up 3 devices, motion sensor, temp sensor, light sensor. I was hoping that it would also allow you to control the nightlight feature with different colors, etc…

I’m on UI7, 1.7.541. I just opened a support case and as it states in there compatibility guarantee, I’m hoping they will review and correct the lack of features for this sensor. If anything comes of it, I’ll be sure to respond to this thread.

Just a quick update… I’ve been contacted by Vera Support. They are looking into it. I’ve also contacted HomeSeer and they’ve provided contact information to be relayed to Vera. Hopefully Vera will follow through.

Thanks for the update, I’ve been pushing hard on this too, this is one of the cooler newest devices and I really want to use the nightlight multi color LED for scenes, etc

Keep us posted!

Did I get a bad device?

I installed one of these on my Vera Edge (HSM200) with the latest firmware (1.7.1018)
The three devices installed, the light sensor and temperature seem to work fine (but the light sensor is really slow to report updates that I have seen).
But the motion sensor doesn’t seem to do anything.
I can arm and disarm it, but it never detects motion, or to be more specific it does not report that motion is occurring back to the Vera.
I know the motion sensor is working as when I put it in test mode (by pressing the side button), the white light will come on with motion (test mode lasts for a minute or two). But both during the test and after, Vera never receives any info from the device that motion is occurring.

Have folks have any trouble with the motion sensor? Did I just get a bad device?

Dont’ care much that the nightlight isn’t working yet (nice to have feature for me), but the motion sensor is making me nuts.
