New Express Controls / New Homeseer Motion detector HSM200

Hi Guys, are you planning on adding in support for the new Express controls Motion Sensor? This new one supports Zwave Plus too.

I haven’t updated to UI7 yet due to lack of all my plugins working and nest issues, but am getting one of these today and want to use it with my latest UI5 build on Vera3

You can also get the user manual from here: http://www.expresscontrols.com/zwaveproducts.htm#EZMultiPli

See the below screenshot, I just got the HSM200 4-in-1 sensor (HomeSeer Sensor with Z-Wave Plus by Express Controls)
and Vera UI5 is seeing it as a switch with ON/OFF - Can you guys please add support for this new sensor???

Eagerly waiting your reply, anyone else have one of these?

More info on this new HSM200 Motion Light, Temp sensor is here

You can buy them on Amazon at EZMultiPli

No on here (except MAYBE a MCV employee who MIGHT happen upon this thread) has any control over adding support for z-wave devices. This is a User to User forum and MCV has very little if any interaction on this site.

You would be better off asking on their Facebook page or emailing their support. You are not going to get any answers making that request here. That is unless you just want to vent that there is yet ANOTHER z-wave device that the Vera doesn’t support.

Posted on their FB page as you suggested and they did reply - said it would be supported within a month or so. Sounds like they are going to support UI5 and UI7 due to many of the holdouts moving forward.

I wouldn’t take that deadline to heart. I got a zcombo smoke/co2 sensor and it’s still not fully supported on UI5. I’m not even 100% sure it works on UI7 as I refuse to update right now.

Hi–

Please post if support for the HSM200 appears either in UI5 or UI7. Thanks

Don

Colin McClure of MCV promised that the EZMultiPli will be supported “soon”.
They have 4 of them for testing purposes and I’ve submitted a bug and sent them details on the problem. Vera is sending only 2 bytes of a 4 byte command and vera is expecting an answer (so they keep sending it over and over) but the HSM200 will never reply because they didn’t send a valid command.
So at the moment UI7 isn’t working but I’ll post when there is a beta available.
I have a VeraEdge which I would highly recommend. I took it apart and there is a 500 series Z-Wave chip and a super nice antenna so it should have excellent range. Routing of Z-Wave traffic is vastly improved in the 500 series.

So to increase the pressure on MCV, please enter a Technical Support Issue via your Vera asking for support for EZMultiPli/HSM200 (even if you don’t have one). They take these fairly seriously so every person who enters one significantly raises the priority of getting this device supported.
Post to their facebook or twitter feeds. In this age of Social Media, they respond to posts on those very quickly.
Don’t bother posting anything here on the forum. Seems like MCV doesn’t monitor these forums at all or else they’d either fix UI7 asap or take all the nasty postings about it down from the forum.

nice, I will watch the tread and wait until working before ordering though

I just tested with the recent release of 1.7.906.
The interview of EZMultiPli now completes and Vera builds the luminance and temperature sensors correctly (it appears).
Vera also builds a 3rd device that can control the LED and turn it on/off (White) but not control the color.
Vera does not build the Notification Command Class device of a motion sensor yet.

Incremental progress but the PIR motion sensor needs to be supported before it is usable.

Thanks, I’m waiting for them to release the UI7 update and then push out a UI5 update too, there are a ton of us holdouts on UI5 that want this new sensor!

Thanks for the update, I’ll submit a ticket to them today

bump - mine is collecting dust while Im waiting to use it…

Given that this is a powered (not battery) unit, can we expect fast response times for the motion detector? (i.e., sub-second?)

@myhomeserver - any news on the UI5 support for HSM200 by any chance?

@Denix, been waiting myself. I gave them access to my unit, they have 4 samples from the manufacturer and have had them for over a month now. Im hoping that we see something soon, this sensor is just so cool if I can get it to use the LED’s too. Right now it does nothing in UI5, and limps along sadly in UI7. Post something on their FB page, they don’t look here at all, or at least email support or maybe colin for help.

As soon as I hear anything I’ll let you know, I’ve been asking the manufacturer too on a regular basis what they have heard

Yes, I have it at the same state as EZM - Failed at getting the version. I’m thinking of upgrading to UI7 at some point, but not yet sure what I’ll loose in plugins from UI5…

Nothing special for us but for the people that haven’t seen this device, here is a quick video I did the other day. I cant wait for this device and to start using the LED indicators!

I have several HSM200 working with UI7. I added them using the Generic Z-Wave device wizard. Motion, temperature, and light sensors are working without any issues. I have not investigated the control of the LED lights. When motion is armed, it does blink to indicate detection. The only criticism I have so far is that the motion sensor detection is very narrow (~30 degrees) and short (~4 feet). Perfect for a hallway or bathroom.

Can you explain how you did this? I’d like to add mine under UI5 and see if that works, not sure what generic device wizard you are talking about, I’m avoiding UI7 due to the lack of supported plugins that I’d require. MCV is taking way too long to get this embedded and I wish they would allow developers to write their own files for vera support, this would have been done months ago!

any help you can provide I’ll try and get this one working with UI5
