License for Vera Alerts Plugin Starting April 1, 2014

For me to debug these kinds of problems:

  1. Post (or email) your Vera Alerts Report (you can comment out any private info).
  2. Turn on Debug in Vera Alerts Settings.
  3. Send me the Vera log file covering the time from a Vera Reload to the time you send an alert from one of the devices in your report.

Funny thing just happened. I created new notification for testing and this one works now.

But now I cant seem to delete old notifications that I had setup prior to using VeraAlerts.

Anyway my vera report attached. Please tell me which vera log do you need? Should I grab just required portion of LuaUPnP log?

You can send me the WHOLE LuaUPnP.log file … I can find what I need from it.

There are two places to set notifications:

  1. On the Notification TAB for a device.
  2. On the TRIGGER Input for a scene, where you specify the devices that can trigger a scene.

Just sent you log on PM.

Hi Richard,
Thank you for a great plugin. I purchased 2 licenses for Vera Alerts within a few hours from each other.
When i enter the second license code and click Verify it says “successful” but even after save and reboot it still shows “You have 1 license, which allows for 2 active profiles.”

You have to reload Vera and Refresh the browser.

I ordered a Vera Plus to replace Lite. When it arrives, I plan to go through the upgrade/transfer process. I am aware that my PLC and VA licenses are tied to the device and do not mind at all licensing them for the new device.

For clarification, I presume I go through the transfer process where all the devices/apps/plug-ins will be installed onto the Plus, once fully up on the Plus, I would license the plug ins?

BTW, both are WELL WORTH THE COST!!!

Thanks.

You will need to upgrade the Plugins as well, after you migrate, if you are going from UI5 yo UI7.
Otherwise you will migrate the UI5 version of the plugins … which will not work on UI7.

Yes you will need a new license. If you have more than one license I have a significant savings, buy your first upgrade license and email me with the OLD and NEW vera Serial #

Good inf? Richard. I hadn’t thought of that. Much like snovvman, I will be happy to just relicense. As you once said, it is like buying you a beer and I often wish i could do that in person.

Email inbound to you with my old and new serial numbers…

I am going from Vera Lite UI7 to Vera Plus UI7.

This is the order that I will be following:

  1. Setup Vera Plus (basic network, access, etc.)
  2. Backup Vera Lite
  3. Put Vera Lite into Controller Shift mode
  4. Put Vera Plus into Copy ZWave network master controller mode
  5. Restore from backup from Vera Lite (using backup file) onto Vera Plus
    Info from here:

At this point, I presume all the settings, scenes, devices, device settings, apps, app settings will be transferred over from Lite to Plus. I’m hoping that all the Vera Alert and PLC settings and customizations will be there.

I assume I would apply the new licenses to Vera Plus after everything is up and running?

You will have to upgrade the Vera Alerts plugin after upgrading to get the right UI version specific files.

But if I am going from UI7 to UI7 (and I am already on 6.37 on Vera Lite), I assume the upgrade will install the correct version?

You click the upgrade button and it will install the latest version on both the front end and back end. Doing any kind of upgrade from one vera to another doesn’t make a full clone of the unit, the firmwares on the unit are also different as with the z-wave chip. To insure everything in the background gets installed and updated to the latest you click the upgrade button in the app section anyways even if it shows you have the latest version number.

Thank you. That makes sense.

Richard, I have been trying to buy a license, but I don’t have a Registration tab on my set-up. I have a Vera Edge. Screenshot attached, thanks.

there is not a tab but if you scroll down the page lower (its cut off in your pic)
you have
send alert, advanced and register.

Register is what you want.

Thanks integlikewhoa

Hello ,

I am unbale to buy-register a licence for vera alerts , I just did PLEG , that worked fine , but when I click register on the vera-alerts “editor option” nothing happends, I get a blanc page.

The question above is for my new vera+

When I upgrade my older vera3 to UI7 ( has now UI5) with 2 PLEG licences and 2 vera alert licences, can I still use the licences for the Vera 3 after upgrade, or do I have to buy new licences for my vera 3 as well?

Thanks,
Cor

The license is tied to the Vera Serial number.

The same license works with UI5 and UI7 for a Vera 3.

But a Vera Plus will need a license.

Whenever you change the Vera Firmware from UI5 to UI7 (or back to UI5) you must upgrade the software to get the correct version specific software.
When you upgrade a Vera 3 Firmware from UI5 to UI7, this does not upgrade the Vera Alerts software from UI5 to UI7, thats why the upgrade is needed.

OK , cool. I will upgrade my vera 3 next week or so.

But for my vera plus , I am unable to register-Pay a new licence. when I click on the tab “register”, all stays blanc… obh … wait… disregards…

AH … I see , since I am working remotely on not on the same LAN that is the issue. When I logged on via teamviewer on a computer at home and than locally on the vera edge it works fine.
