Good to know. Thanks Chuck.

On a brighter note, I was e-mailed by Steve this statement, “I?ve checked the logs on the unit and it seems there are some issues with the commands sent from the Leviton Dimmer to the Vera controller and that is why it?s not running the scenes. I forwarded this issue to our development team so it can be fixed in a future firmware upgrade. The issue has been assigned internal tracking code VUI-3930. You can check our release notes here: http://support.getvera.com/customer/portal/topics/666697-release-notes/articles to see if the issue is fixed when a firmware is released.”

Thanks for posting, Chuck. I’ve never seen any internal tracking codes listed in the release notes – are we just supposed to use that number when referencing this issue with Vera support? This issue has been around since the Vera Edge was released - it was a huge disappointment to learn that it wasn’t fixed in the latest firmware release (I just upgraded myself and checked).
Right now, my Vera Edge is nothing more than a paper weight (and it’s so light, it doesn’t even do that well)…

The paperweight comment is funny . No, I haven’t tried using that number yet to reference. I am seriously considering firing up the Vera3 again. The VE is a real disappointment. I still don’t think I can unplug the Cat6 and use it via WiFi… not worth trying as too tired from other troubleshooting to experiment!!!
I had another poster say they fixed the “Failed at: Please wait! Getting the manufacturer” but for all my Leviton devices I am still getting it with the latest firmware.
I have owner my Vera Edge since Dec 01,2014. So you are telling me in 3 months Vera can’t fix a major issue with a major manufacturer like Leviton. Every switch in my house is a Leviton switch.
Really dissapointed in MCV. As a software developer myself if a user reported a major bug that was preventing them from using the software I don’t go to sleep at night until that bug is patched.

We are aware of the issue. We are working with Leviton to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

Marc: Can you tell us if this is an issue with UI7 or with the new Zwave+ chip in the Vera Edge?

tadr, it is, as best I can interpret from the Dev Team notes, a hardware issue in that the device is not transmitting the data. It is not a VeraEdge issue, I do not know if it is effecting UI5 users or not. I would call this a device issue and we are working with Leviton to resolve it.
Careful Mark if you say its a device issue then it wouldn’t work with other controllers, but that does not seem to be the case. Call a spade a spade.

Its Marc not Mark.
I am aware. We used a device called a Zniffer to inspect the process and data being transmitted.

My apology for the typo “Marc”.

Much appreciated. I for one think that Marc looks much nicer than Mark.

I told tech support this when I spoke to them previously about this, but just so the record is clear here – all of my Leviton dimmers (including the exact same ones I have been trying to transition over to my Vera Edge) work perfectly on my Vera Lite with UI5.

I have a vera Edge that I’m not using (this is one of the reasons as all my switches are Levitons). I would be willing to fire it up and move a leviton switch to it as a test as well. I know for a fact that they all work on my VeraLite UI5.
Give tech support a few more months. It’s probley a bad switch. ;D
We already over due for the monthly update.

I recently added 3 more VRS15 switches to bring up my count to around 16 Leviton switches(1 dimmer) and they all work just fine on my Vera Edge (UI7 Latest firmware) instant status and all…
I do have 1 of the Home depot Leviton switches and it doesn’t report instantly like all my other Leviton Switches, but then I knew that was an issue before buying that one.
Now if I could have all my lightswitches say On/Off instead of Opened/Closed!!! ;D ;D

Well then it certainly sounds like you’re the exception. I am specifically noticing the problem on my VRI06-1LZ incandescent dimmers. Once those didn’t work, I didn’t even both trying to include my other switches (I have several VRS15-1LZ switches as well). It’s good to hear that the VRS15-1LZ switches may work, but if the Edge on UI7 isn’t working with devices that worked previously on UI5 there are some major issues on Vera’s end.
All: MCV apparently has a Guaranteed Compatibility program where they will reimburse the cost of your Vera unit if they can’t get a device working within 4 weeks of a support ticket. The catch is that your support ticket needs to mention “Guaranteed Compatibility.” See: http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Guaranteed_Compatibility
I recently submitted another ticket (even though my first one was back in December) about the Leviton issue in order to start the 4-week clock for reimbursement of my Vera Edge. If 4 weeks passes and they still haven’t fixed the issue with the Leviton dimmers, they have to refund the cost of my Vera Edge under this program.
I strongly encourage others in the same position to do the same.

This is a page that is about to disappear. Certainly it needs to be updated.

Not our problem – but a good point. I’ve attached a screenshot of the current guarantee page in case they take it down.
@tadr
Did you actually exclude/include on EDGE ?
It’s very likely that using workarounds to move the Z-Wave config from a UI5 version of Vera may not be working correctly.
It would be good to know if the people with the problems are people that have tried to do an upgrade as opposed to a fresh install.
