It looks interesting, although I don’t yet see the difference or the purpose of the division into Sense and Property. It certainly seems designed for the use case of managing (rented) properties and is a bookable add-on service from Ezlo (I’m currently on the 30-day trial).
Is there a plan to redesign the ezlogic.mios.com dashboard in the same way as the dashboard in Sense/Property?
hi @Odysee , you can try out the https://property.ezlo.com/ with your same user as you have in ezlogic . The app will would let you combine ha hub + ezlo hubs atm .
We would be providing ezlogic user similar ui for ezlo hubs as well but not ability to combine non ezlo hub .
When will the new interface for ezlogic users be available? I’m assuming that some of the things I’ve criticized about the current ezlogic interface will then be obsolete, and I won’t need to ask any further questions. Would it make sense for me to test the Property/Sense section and report any bugs or inconsistencies, or is that pointless in its current state since it’s still being worked on? If it does make sense or is even desired, where would I report it?
Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time left to look into it. The trial period seems to have expired, but I suppose I can still continue testing it (albeit with reduced scope?). If I notice anything while using it now, where exactly should I report it? Here in this thread, on the Community Feature and Bug Tracker, or is there a dedicated beta section?
Yes, you can use the “Feature Requests & Bug Reports” section here on the forum. If your access has been locked, we can extend the trial period. Please let us know via ticket and we will be more than happy to help.
I just noticed that there has been an update to the Ezlogic dashboard. As I had suspected (a question that unfortunately went unanswered last time), the design has been adopted from the Property/Sense platforms. Consequently, a few dashboard-related bugs have been resolved. It also appears that devices from multiple platforms—Ezlo and Vera—are now displayed in the dashboard. So far, this is a step in the right direction.
A quick comment on the announced subscription for Vera cloud functionality: I fully understand that Ezlo cannot operate profitably solely through hardware sales. Logically, that revenue cannot cover the costs of development, support, and servers, given that people don’t constantly buy new controllers. I consider the entry-level pricing fair.
However, I am curious about one thing regarding this:
The economic situation is essentially the same for Ezlo controllers, yet there has been no mention of a monthly fee for cloud functionality there. Will Ezlogic remain free of charge for Ezlo controllers, or will a fee be introduced at some point? Since Ezlo controllers—unlike Vera controllers—cannot be programmed locally and rely on the cloud, such a move would have far greater consequences (e.g., being unable to change settings without a subscription). Or will the subscription apply only to the Property/Sense platforms?
And what about mixed setups? Ezlo and Vera devices are now displayed together in Ezlogic. If no subscription is purchased for the Vera cloud, will the Vera platform devices simply be hidden from view, or is the Vera cloud subscription waived if an Ezlo controller is used alongside them?
Thank you — this is exactly the kind of thoughtful feedback we appreciate, and we’re glad the latest update cleared up those bugs and that the multi-platform dashboard feels like a step in the right direction.
The current subscription applies only to Vera controllers. It’s important to clarify that this subscription covers the primary account and any sub-accounts created under it. A typical example would be one main home account with an administrator, plus accounts for a spouse and children — all of these would be covered, so you wouldn’t need to pay for multiple separate subscriptions for the same household.
And yes — if the subscription isn’t purchased, your Vera controllers will still appear in the app but will be shown as offline, while your Ezlo controllers will remain online.
It does not seem like a like a totally unreasonable price but I don’t see how those maintenance costs only apply to the Vera controller and not the Ezlo as well so if there’s a revenue stream needed to ‘maintain’ the Vera platform those same costs would be true for the Ezlo. If you need to charge for one controller you’ll need to charge for both.
For me it’s maintaining functionality not an upgrade as it’s being advertised. I will most likely be forced to pay the subscription so I can continue to use the same functionalities that I’ve been using for years.
Let’s face it the subscription model is where everyone has gone and it’s not going away. I’d be prepared for a subscription on the Ezlo as well. Ezlo will need to recoup development costs somehow and I’m sure a subscription for an Ezlo controller is in the future. Maybe they’ll put a bundled deal together if you have both controllers.
What kind of security is in place to make sure peoples door lock codes don’t get exposed in the new interface? I wasn’t a fan that they were exposed via home.getvera.com. I would think there would be some extra layer of security/authentication in the upgraded interface. There should probably be some sort of additional security on being able to toggle the lock.
Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us.
Our team is currently working on a new feature that will ensure door lock PIN codes are masked (for example, displayed as ****) in the interface.
We are aware that most voice assistants use an additional PIN code when changing the lock state, since they connect through a third‑party service, and that adds an extra security layer.
In our platform this specific scenario does not apply in the same way, but we completely understand your concern and will pass your feature request to the responsible department for further review and prioritization.
Thank you again for your valuable feedback and for helping us improve our products.
How do verify I have the latest version of the web ui and if I don’t how do I get the latest version? Support said something was fixed in the latest but it’s still broken for me.
The latest version of the Dynamic Dashboard available at ezlogic.mios.com is 1.1.3.3, while the latest version of Ezlogic itself is 2.18.1. These are the versions currently available for the web UI and the platform, respectively.
