Chamberlain/Liftmaster MyQ Plugin

Welcome, sorry it didn’t work out but glad you have an alternate method.

Can you please look into if other features can be added to the plug-in… I’d like to be able to set the ‘Hold Open’ function and maybe even set the unit’s built-in close timer

Thx for all your fantastic plugins!

First of all… wrong place to ask… second… no… the only functionality exposed by the Wink API is open/close control and fault notification. Even the MYQ android/ios app does not allow control of hold open or close timer.

OK… kinda thought the place to ask about the ‘MyQ Plugin’ would be in the thread dedicated to it… I was not asking about Wink in any way/shape/form.

thank you for letting me know it is not exposed .

Well… Since the MyQ plugin is not authored by me, and the Wink plugin is authored by me… and since my reply was regarding your comment about the Wink hub, and you directed the question to me specifically… I assumed the plugin in question was the Wink Connect plugin, as that is the only one I can make changes too (and… you stated that you don’t use the MyQ plugin any more)…

I just didn’t want to start a threadjacking…

sorry bro… I definitely pointed the question to you, where it should have been to JoeyD

Question–I have the MyQ plugin installed and it’s working like a charm for me. We just added a myQ gate operator and added this to our system, but not sure how to get it into vera. It’s not showing up automatically. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

JoeyD hasn’t been around on this forum in months so there is no new development to the plugin. However, in Vera in the myQ Setup tab, it should say the number of door/gate openers found and number of lighting devices found. Do you only have 1 for your garage? Or are you not using a garage opener?

Hmm, in the advanced tab I don’t see anything specifying number of devices, but do see two numbers listed under openerIDs, which I’m assuming are my two MyQ garage doors. I originally set up the plug in with only these devices and just added the gate operator today. Thought it would autoadd the device, but so far no luck.

ETA, wondering if anyone else has added another device after setting up the plugin originally. Trying to figure out if that’s the issue or if there is something unique about the gate operator (it does seem to setup differently in the MyQ app).

Just to give an update, I think I’ve likely found the culprit. Took reading through all 28 pages, but at least I think I know why! I’m still using the original plugin from Macrho, which does’t look like it supports the gate device type. Will try downloading the app from the app store instead and see if that solves the problem. Hopefully I don’t screw anything up in the process…

ETA, that did the trick! All went perfectly and gate now showing up.

Great, glad it’s working now!

Nice plug in. Literally took minutes to get it going. And will now use garage door status in the mornings to read my weather to me through the garage Sonos. Or maybe juice the music volume with door open when puttering in there. Thanks again.

I just installed a Chamberlain HD960WF and have the wifi and MyQ app setup and working correctly. I can connect through the MyQ app on my smartphone and control the door without a problem.

However, when I install the MyQ app on VeraEdge it doesn’t find any garage doors with my account. After I installed the app I went to the MyQ Setup tab and chose “Chamberlain” as the brand and then entered my login information below and hit update. Unfortunately it doesn’t find my garage door on my account.

Below is what the app displays.

MYQ DEVICES FOUND:
Number of garage doors / gates found:0
Number of lighting devices found:0

Does anyone have any suggestions for getting it to find my garage door correctly?

Refresh and look again?

I’ve tried refreshing and rebooting and uninstalling the app and reinstalling. No dice.

What does the master MyQ device list for Last Auth and Last Check values?

Also do the values on the MyQ Setup tab match what you have entered into your MyQ app (MyQ user name and password)
Just for kicks, change the brand from Chamberlain to Liftmaster and see if it finds anything that way.

Last CheckMon 13:15

I tried changing it to Liftmaster and saved the change and even tried to reboot. Still does not find my device. The credentials are correct. I entered some wrong credentials on purpose to see what would happen and it told me they were wrong. So I know I have the correct credentials now. Just can’t figure out what is going wrong.

I had the same exact issue on my VeraEdge, it worked fine up until MyQ had an outage and then it never worked again. I believe I responded to your reddit post about this issue as well. I reached out to Vera on their Facebook page to see if they’re working on their own MyQ integration since this plug-in is no longer being maintained. My current work around is with my Wink hub and using the Wink Connect plugin.

What other plug-ins do you have installed? Maybe there’s a plugin causing issues that we’re both using.

Thanks for your help! This is a fairly new hub. I’ve been using it for around a week and the only other plugin I have installed right now is the VeraConnect WWN plugin.

I hope they didn’t change something during that outage that broke the MyQ plugin. I don’t have a wink hub to use as a workaround.
