Hi all
Have managed to re-implement multi-state buttons and updated layout of both UI5 and UI7. If you are interested here is the link: -

Adjustments to cater for UI7.
Please note there are no installation details at this point so approach with care. I will update instructions here http://code.mios.com/trac/mios_denon-receiver-control/wiki when time allows.

1.22

Due to curruption when downloading S_RenderingControl1.xml version 1.22 is unstable and should not be used

Added auto load service file S_RenderingControl1.xml.
Added Mute to flash Tab (See screenshot for layout).
Added volumeDB adjust.

Zoot…

is this now the official plugin, taking over for the versions in this thread:
http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,5863.510.html

I’m still running from their, and want to know if I should install from the plugin site?

Thanks

@tomgru
The version in store will follow this. Please note 1.22 had some major issues so will not be uploaded to app store. Currently working on update and will release beta once I am happy.

ok… thanks. but to be clear, this will be the new version thread going forward, not the other thread?

@tomgru
Short answer is yes, this thread will be used to indicate new beta versions are available to download.

Will you be supporting UI7? Please :stuck_out_tongue:

@fusion600
Will be supporting UI7 once I have a second box to test on.

Cheers

Great to hear.

My AVR-X4000US is working with trying different versions posted throughout the threads, however best I can get is with .44 and in Tuner I only get a Blue bar across top, and no access to iRadio or Pandora. I guess that is because of UI7? With the latest I get the weirdest behaviour.

Standby, Main On, Off, On, Unmute, and input buttons work great.

Volume slider, +Volume, -Volume do nothing

All “Tabs” for Tuner, Settings, Advanced, Device Options… present the functionality of the one below, and the bottom one being Notifications presents only Please Wait…

My wife enjoys the Tuner in the morning getting ready for work, and my kids love iRadio. Both of which don’t necessarily need functionality within, but the ability to be selected is all I am looking for.

With the Official Add-on I get no tuner button or and network/internet type inputs but the rest works perfectly.

Try this version: -
Diff from /@87 to branches/UI5Update@87 – Denon Receiver Control Plugin

It doesn’t render correctly but should work OK in UI7. Let me know as this is the version that will be updated into app store once I have the ui fixed.

Cheers

I saw an error about DLNA Proxy. Is there something special I am to do after just installing the DLNA plugin?

Still installing… will follow-up with more, this was just in case you were still online

I installed the uPnP Event Proxy plugin and the error went away.

I sent you a PM with detailed results of this build on my UI7.

Thanks for you efforts!!

Is there a way to choose which buttons show in the main page of the Dashboard in UI7 for the Denon Device?

For example: Right now I added as a favorite and the main partition of the receiver shows on the Dashboard. However, on the computer it only shows the unmute/mute buttons and the volume slider. In the iOS app, it only shows an on/off button (could not get that to do anything). On the computer at least you can click into the device to get to the rest of the buttons. In the iOS app you see nothing when clicking into the device.

Didn’t know if it is something easily adjustable in the code or not.

Thanks!

@asggold
If plugin has started correctly then you should have Zone On, Zone Off, Main On, Standby, Mute On, Mute Off plus volume slider. If this is not the case than plugin has not done its job.

Please send me logs for initial configuration start up so I can see where the problem is.

Added screen shots

@zoot1612

I added a couple screenshots below but the “tab” picture you added looks nothing like mine. You can see I am missing quite a bit on my UI7 Dashboard but the details of the device looks the same (even though not all the buttons do what they are labeled to do).

Not sure how to download and send you the logs? Could you let me know how and how to send them to you?

Also, as for the iOS app, that is a whole other story. I will try to get a screenshot of that but all I have on that is an on/off switch. You don’t get any additional details when clicking the grey arrow to go into the device details.

Thanks again!

@zoot1612

So, I decided to try and delete all of it and start over again to make sure it was not something I did wrong in the install. I think that ended up fixing most of it. Now (as you can see from the attachment below) all I am missing are the icons. I tried to add those files again just to make sure but that didn’t make any difference. I also tried in a different browser, just to make sure, but they were both the same. Also tried a reboot, but that did not seem to make a difference either. Just seems like it is not finding the icons.

Just to make sure I did this right, I downloaded the files but removed the UI7 part of the file name (figuring they were just to label) before uploading to the Vera.

EDIT: One other thing I noticed later today…Although this plug-in seems to work after install, it actually stops working after certain periods of inactivity. Once you turn the Denon back on again using anything but this plugin it starts working again. I am not sure what the inactivity cutoff time is but I know it is not instant. Once I turned on with the remote I am able to turn off/on, adjust volume, etc… with the plugin again. I can tell when the inactivity time has occurred by noticing the blue bar at the top of the Vera UI7 page trying to run the Lua code over and over and over… When you go into the Device itself and try and click on anything it gives you the “Error - Device is not ready” pop-up.

Thanks!

@asggold
@icons need to be uploaded to /www/cmh/skins/default/img/devices/device_states/

using command line in linux or winscp for windows.

example using linux: -

scp <PATH/TO/ICON/> root@<VERAIPAddress>:/www/cmh/skins/default/img/devices/device_states/

Only default icon is supported currently.

@zoot1612

I am on a Mac. Any chance you know how to do on a Mac?

EDIT: Figured out how to upload the icons as you mentioned on a Mac using Terminal SSH. After rebooting the device it is now showing the grey default icon as you mentioned. Thanks! ;D

Also, I am not sure which logs you are looking for. I see a “Logs” section under the Denon Main Device but the only thing listed under there is a single alert which just says the time and date of the last time the device was offline. I assume you are looking for another log somewhere else.

Thanks

What’s a Mac? :slight_smile:

For the Denon plugin you need to go to the advanced tab and change “Setup” to “0” (so that the plugin does a complete rebuild) than restart luup engine. This way I can see when it fails if it is creating or editing a static json or xml files.

By the way I think ssh is available on the command line for the Mac.

Cheers

@zoot1612

Well, I have not seen the A/V plugin lose connection and reconnect in a while. So, hopefully something has settled down and it is working consistently.

The other question I had now is around the iOS Vera app:
The Vera app shows the AV Main and Zone 2 devices. However, all it has is an on/off switch. Even if you go into the device itself there are no more options. Where are all the other buttons? Why do the buttons show on the computer but not on the iOS app. They are both logging into the same system.

Thanks!
