Zwave USB Stick

Hi All,

When I initially started looking at zwave I purchased a usb stick from an online provider in my country. I believe it is an aeon brand although not advertised as such.

I installed it into a pc and used a trial download of homeseer. I was not totally happy with it and the supplier suggested Vera 3 and I have since grown my network down this path.

Unfortunately the battery backup (for mobile inclusion/exclusion failed) and if I want to include devices I have to disconnect the vera3 unit and take it to the nearest powerpoint with an extension cord to include say an inwall device.

The provider seems to be getting less and less involved in any support (e.g. support calls not being returned or non relevant links being given, etc. )

Can I use my now irrelevant USB stick to act as a remote inclusion device and then plug it into the vera router to add devices (and if so do I need to cleanse the device from when I was using it before or default it somehow).

thx in advance

Have you tried using high power inclusion from the vera Web interface? Very rarely do I have to disconnect my vera to include a device.

To answer your question, I do not think it is possible. I’ve not heard anyone doing this. Only to use the usb stick as their main zwave device for Vera.

thanks Garrettwp to be honest I didn’t even know their was a high powered inclusion. Learning all the time.

do you think that the stick can perform anything of value in my network at all ?

I have never seen the high power inclusion, i know it exists, but where do i activate it ? I cannot see it on the web interface

Devices —> Add Devices —> Advanced Z wave Devices (bottom of list) click ADD —> (bottom option again) Power add

thanks, never seen that.
