ZWave Plus and ZWave Classic

Question:

If a ZWave Plus module has to get back to the controller by way of another device that is NOT ZWave Plus (IE ZWave Classic), could this cause issues with the device not responding to Polling and/or constantly ‘Not Being Detected’???

Z Wave+ is supposed to be 100% backward compatible so I wouldn’t think it would be a problem:

I would imagine it would have a problem if the device with problems uses the NEW security class interfaces of the Vera Plus and the mesh does not have enough nodes to route the security class requests.

I did read that as well. And i guess technically the device is working as i can turn it on and off, but it reports as being not detected after a period of time and i can never successfully poll it. So i was thinking perhaps its an issue with the fact that its closest node in the mesh network is a classic zwave device??

Suggest you open a case with Vera support. It would be a significant flaw in the Z-wave protocol if the polling were somehow broken with Zwave plus, so I doubt that’s happening. I suspect you have some other issue - and this sounds a bit like many of the issues that have been seen and slowly resolved in UI7. You are running the very latest firmware? And then you may want to exclude and re-include the device(s) in question.

What device is this? It’s not a battery device right?

Fibaro fgs-213 single switch. Hard wired, it’s about 5m from its closest neighbour, although that’s 5m through a block wall… but figure if it turns on and off it must be able to get its signal through.

I’ve logged a tech support call… they left me an email saying they had changed a few things and to monitor it… 2 days since then and it is still doing it…
