Has anyone had experience using Zwave in a warehouse? In my case, I’d like to use it to control thermostats and some lights. There is a large quantity of steel in my warehouse and I was wondering if it would cause a problem with the nodes communicating with each other.
I’ve got a large house with a detached Barn and Garage at least 100 feet away and they are wrapped in aluminum siding…They work well but to make the “jump” outside of the house to the barn and garage I typically need to have a node right near the wall or a window to get through the aluminum siding…
Same here. My detatched aluminum sided barn has a few Z-wave modules inside, and also a Schlage lock. I placed an outdoor module outside my house closest to the barn to provide the ‘jump’ to the barn.
I have racks and racks of heavy steel parts, and I’m not sure the aluminum siding would be a good comparison. I think I’m going to have to bring my Vera2 down to the office and wire up a few switches and test it out.
