Zooz Dimmer Problem

I was able to connect my ZEN27 to my Vera Edge without an issue. The problem I have is that when I turn it off from Vera, it then does not revert to the last level of brghtness. Example if it is at full brightness at 100%, when I turn it back on it is at 2%.

If I dim it to say 55% via Vera, when I then turn it right back on it is then at 11%. If I then turn it back on again, it’s at 1%…This sort of odd variable continues.

Any suggestions?

Suggestions as to how to remedy this please?

I have a few of those switches, and never had that problem. Don’t wanna sound like im stating the obvious but have you tried repairing it to your Vera, to me it sounds like there’s a communication error between the vera and the switch.

Not the obvious to me since I didn’t do that. Where do I find this repair function? “Update neighbor nodes”?

I think @Pabla meant that you should exclude the dimmers, then re-include them. Before you do that, perhaps you could try a few things to provide some additional information.

First, to make sure I understand your problem, I have some questions.

What version firmware are you running?
If you set the level with the slider in the UI to 50%, then use the switch in the UI to turn the dimmer off, does the connected lamp go out, or does it dim to a low level?
If you then use the switch in the UI to turn it back on, what level does the slider move to, and what does the connected lamp do?
If you set the dimmer to 50% in the UI, then tap the bottom of the switch, does the connected lamp turn off?
If you tap the top of the dimmer, does it return to 50%?

I’m trying to separate dimmer behavior from Vera behavior.

I think it’s Vera and the reason is I have been using this switch for about a month with no issues.

To answer your questions:

What version firmware are you running? 1.7.3231
If you set the level with the slider in the UI to 50%, then use the switch in the UI to turn the dimmer off, does the connected lamp go out, or does it dim to a low level? it goes out
If you then use the switch in the UI to turn it back on, what level does the slider move to, and what does the connected lamp do? 2%
If you set the dimmer to 50% in the UI, then tap the bottom of the switch, does the connected lamp turn off? it turns off but shows at 2% in the UI
If you tap the top of the dimmer, does it return to 50%? no

Thanks for the help!

Fran

OK, thanks.

The problem is in the dimmer, not Vera. Please download this:

The dimmer supports maximum and minimum brightness, plus a lot of other user-settable parameters. It sounds like your dimmers have some of these parameters set. Read the manual and look at which parameters need to be changed. If you are not familiar with how to set configurations in Vera, the best option might be to exclude all the dimmers that are giving you problems and follow the dimmer factory reset procedure in the Zooz manual. This will reset the dimmer to factory defaults. Once this is done, include them again. They should behave normally.

I look through the link, thank you.

Which parameter do you feel is incorrect? I understand how to change them by reading their tutorial

I would look at the minimum and maximum brightness, for a start. If I was doing this, I’d be inclined to exclude the dimmer, perform the factory reset, then re-include it just to make sure that everything was returned to the default factory state. In the long run, it will probably be faster and less aggravating!

This is what Zooz says:

We’ve actually seen this behavior on Vera with the ZEN27 before; this is a firmware issue that is specific to Vera platforms. Normally we would send you a replacement dimmer with updated firmware for Vera, but unfortunately the ZEN27 is out of stock for another week or so.
