I might have a unique issue with my Zigbee radio - I add a couple of devices, they work fine and then I am not able to add anymore devices either of the same kind or different to the system. It happens all the time - I add a couple and then the zigbee add devices function does not allow me to add any other - like it stuck or something. The devices which I added all work fine but it just won’t allow me to add anymore devices to the system. The only way is to start all over again by resetting the Zigbee protocol which makes me loose all my Zigbee devices. I then have to re-pair everything but halk way through the cycle happens all over again. I am so sick of these. I am able to add the devices to the smarthing hub without issues or if I reset the zigbee protocol and start all over again in VeraPlus. Can anyone point me on how to resolve this or should I not use Veraplus for zigbee devices. Anyway to integrate smarthing to Vera? ??? ???
My experience with ZigBee and Vera Plus is similar to yours. Very frustrating to say the least. I became a happier person when I pulled the plug on the Vera Plus, wrapped the power cord around it and put it in my electronic junk bin.

Yes, but my solution, was not clean or easy. Here is how. Some clever folks (google stjohnjohnson) wrote a SmartThings, MQTT bridge. OpenHAB has an MQTT binding as well as a MiOS binding. So I had my Vera Lite tied to OpenHAB via the MiOS binding and SmartThings and ZigBee devices talking to OpenHAB via MQTT. OpenHAB was the glue that tied both systems together. It was pretty cool to see devices on my SmartThings hub on my iPhone with HomeWave.
In the end, it proved to be too much bother for me and I took the SmartThings and ZigBee off line.

I also was so excited to incorp Zigbee since I preordered and received one of the first shipments of Vera Plus. Zigbee has been nonoperational all year, to date. I can get a single device or two online, but that doesn’t last, I have to reset the entire network, or clear devices, it’s a nightmare. Nothing works. Just nothing works reliably or simply. I have smartthings hub I grabbed for 49 recently, but I don’t think I’m willing to do all that backend work to make Zigbee work with Vera, this is RIDICULOUS I can’t even get the NYCE Garage Sensor to work at all and it’s even on the compatibility list, forget other simple devices, why!!! These are device which have been available for at least years (osram, ge, tcp, philips, etc, (whether ZLL or simple HA2)and the profiles haven’t changed…why can’t we get simple compat!? Tunable? RGBW? the options for rgbw on vera are tight and obtuse, sad.
Yes - very frustrating. Been working with Customer Care this morning. We tried everything but a no Go for me. The only one sure thing I know now is that I can only add 6 ZigBee Devices successfully in any order to the system after that the system will not simply let me add more. It just doesn’t detect any new devices, I wish to add. After the sixth device, it simply quits detecting any new ZigBee devices. Not sure if this is by design or I have a faulty hub.
So I have 10 Devices added to my vera. At first I added 6 and had no problem. Then I added 4 more with no problem but since then after a few days they just quit working, not all of them, just some. I have to unpair and then repair them to get them working again, then a few days later it’s the same thing all over again. It’s very frustrating and about to give up. Mios You need to do something about this, releasing half baked products isn’t cool. I’ve got $150 of lights that are unusable now unless I buy a different hub.
Yeah, Vera is a Z-wave platform. Zigbee and bluetooth were just a marketing thing mainly. They keep going around saying you have to write a specific driver for each item, despite the fact that the generic zigbee driver kinda works in many cases. Even then they’ve only built in support for 13 zigbee device and ONE bluetooth device in the first year, so it either is not a priority or it is a completely overwhelming task.
Stick with z-wave, it works mostly sorta okay most of the time.
If you are already invested in zigbee devices and you want to continue to use them (I had a couple of scenarios where the Zigbee light was the only option). What I did was pick up a Wink hub 1 on the cheap, and use the Wink Hub plug in from Vera, works fine for my needs and lets me use Vera PLEG with my Zigbee lights with a way more reliable connection then the Plus.
I don’t think the Wink Hub2 is quite working yet (and of course that upped the price), but if you can find a 1 on the cheap it is nice way to cover your zigbee lights.
Wink Hub plug in from Vera???
What Wink Hub plug in from Vera???
Sorry I mean for Vera.
Cybrmage, we all know your Wink and Caseta plug ins rock Glad to see you back.
Wink Hub 1 are going on Ebay for $40 so not a bad deal there.
Wait a minute… if I buy a Wink hub, and add my ZigBee device to that… are you saying that those devices that are attached to the wink hub will show up normally in Vera then? Doesn’t seem ideal, but it sure sounds like a plan that would actually work…
yes,works pretty darn well too
I was reading about Wink, but with this setup, does it require internet access, or will it work locally without the need for the cloud stuff?

I have done essentially the same thing using a “Link” hub, which is like a cheap version of the Wink hub that comes in a bundle with some GE A19 Zigbee bulbs. The Link hub is specific to those bulbs, but works with the Wink plugin, and makes the GE A19s (which are, IMO horribly unstable when used directly with the Vera Plus) quite reliable.
yes,works pretty darn well too[/quote]
Problem is, Wink Hub doesn’t support WPA2-Enterprise, so I can’t connect it to my wifi. And it doesn’t have ethernet.
From what I read, rooting a Wink Hub 2 might not be possible in order to use local access only.
So it appears that this route may not work out.
i have the wink hub 2 working with all of my osram bulbs and fixtures, using four wink relays also, (lots of sensors, buttons, etc), it all is transferred into Vera Plus using cybermage’s plugin. with the exception of him figuring out some things over the holidays, the .24 version seems pretty solid. setting up the app now.

I just got a Wink 2 a couple of days ago and it does have wired Ethernet. FYI “Today through Wednesday, 3/15, Amazon Prime members get 20% off the Wink Hub 2 when ordering through Alexa. Simply say ?Alexa, order a Wink Hub? and it’s yours for only $79 USD.”
It is connected to my Vera Lite with Cybermage’s plugin and so far it works great with my Cree bulbs.
So the Wink plugin WILL work with Vera Plus and Wink Hub 2? (say yes, say yes!)
you guys didn’t read my comment? it’s never not worked. even the day the Wink Hub 2 came out, i bought it at walmart and it worked that night. cybermage has been updating it as best he can. trying to sort issues out with how the wink relay’s show up in Vera. it works, its always worked.
Got it! Time to play!
