zConnect Garage door opener

Hi all,

I’m new to the whole z-wave automation thing, so I’m still learning…slowly.

I’m having a problem with my garage door opener, its a zconnect module, everything works, however there is supposed to be 2 switches plus 2 motion sensors appear when its paired. Mine only has 1 switch and 2 motion sensors.

Is there a way of adding another switch to the device. I have tried unpairing and repairing several times with the same result.

Hope someone can help.
Cheers, Brent

I’ve never seen this device before but it looks very similar to several others available.

Are there jumper pins on it to configure it manually?

Did you look in the Advanced Settings for the device?

Does the manufacturer have a technical guide available?

I found you device using Google and the results on the Facebook page reported from Google.

The manual is found here.

It looks like you need to change Parameter 9 to have the second controller show up. In Vera this is under Device Options.

The default is probably 1 so change it to 0 and reload the lua then refresh your browser. You may actually need to add the device here under “Add Configuration Settings”. In this case, add in a Variable 9 and set it to One Byte Decimal and assign it a value of 0. If 0 doesn’t work, try 1 but it should be 0 according to the values tables at the bottom of the linked manual.

Report back.

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

I am using a VeraPlus with UI7 if that helps.
I have changed variable 9 to 0, however there was no change.

I am doing a lot of googling, but I have only just started playing with z-wave so I am very dumb with regards to knowing where to find settings and change them at the moment.

Cheers

Ok, It seems I was a little impatient with the module updating. After changing parameters and confirming they were set, I then unpaired and repaired the device and it is now all working perfectly.

Thankyou Sammy2, I have learnt a bit today.

Cheers,

Brent

My Pleasure. Glad I could help. If it weren’t for others getting me through this same sort of issue with MIMO 2+ (Very similar product, BTW) to control my variable speed pool pumps I wouldn’t have been able to know where to look on this issue myself.

That’s what we’re here for.
