I have a Yale Real Living Lock with Z Wave Module that I’ve tried everything to rid it of an old Z Wave Network I once had (and now long disposed of). Yet, seems whatever I try the Yale Lock will not allow an exclusion. When I try the Yale instructions to exclude on the device with a 7# then 3# the lock simply flashes a bunch of numbers (like I entered something wrong). It makes no attempt to exclude old z wave network.
Does anyone know how to force a clean of a Yale Real Living Z Wave module so that the lock presents the Inclusion option again. Right now I am unable to include these expensive locks into my new VERA Edge Z Wave network. Would be a shame to throw these away simply due to upgrading from VERA LITE to VERA EDGE.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately Option 1# for enrollment is not appearing, only #3 (un-enroll) which leads me to thinking Z Wave module is still enrolled in my old Vera-Lite controller (which is unfortunately destroyed so can’t use it to un-enroll).
I have tried a hard factory reset of the lock, but this did nothing to the Z WAVE module, simply factory reset all the other Yale Lock settings (such as master code and user codes).
So Yale Real Living Lock with present Z Wave Module seems stuck in an old Z Wave network which I can’t seem to un-enroll. I read on Smarthings that their Hub/controllers are able to override other foreign Z Wave networks and force en-enroll of devices including Yale Real Living Locks. I’d hate to have to purchase a SmartThings Hub/Controller just for the sole purpose of en-enrolling this Lock… Does Vera have any back doors to doing something similar to how Samsung worked un-enroll for foreign Z Wave networks out?

I had this happen once and it turned out the zwave module was bad. I got another module and then it worked fine, both enroll and un-enroll…
You do not need the old Vera to unpair, it can be unpaired using you new Vera…
It us unclear from the first post how you are doing the option as you do not state you are setting the new Vera to exclude a device and then hit the lock keys as you have already detailed.
I also am having the same problem with two brand new locks…one was working and the other would not join the network and I also could not get it to unpair so I reset the Z Wave chip in my VeraPlus…how both units will only show the option 3 no matter what I do…this is super annoying
Alright, so I was able to talk to my Yale rep and my Vera rep…here is the solution for the problem so that you all do not have to go through the frustration that we did…
Step 1) Log into your VeraPlus and go to your devices
Add a generic z wave device
It will begin the countdown to add a new device…you do not have to wait for that to happen just click Retry…this puts your VeraPlus into exclusion mode
Go to your door lock, type in your master code then go to 7, hit three and then hit the pound key–you will get a message telling you exclusion is successful
The VeraPlus will then automatically go back into the countdown to add a new device…go back into your master mode on your lock, hit 7 and 1 will be available again…hit1 and then the pound key and the VeraPlus will re-register the device.
Drink a large beer
Hope this helps save someone the massive frustration that I dealt with last night trying to get the lock to go back to the registration mode
Thanks so much for posting that solution! I had the same problem, and it was driving me crazy. Adding the Generic and excluding it did the trick for me.
I just stumbled through this with a Yale lock I bought used. I was able to essentially complete these steps through guess work, now that I read it, I realize these were the steps that cleared my lock and allowed me to pair it with my veraEdge.
Thanks for posting the solution.
