Yale Real Living Problem

I had to reprogram my Vera3 unit and I can’t pair my Yale door lock anymore. On the door lock When I go in the menu (enter master pin, then press 7 + #key to register) the blue light turns red and I can’t do anything except exit this menu. I can’t register the module at all. I tried resetting the door lock, the door lock itself resets but I still get the red light when I try to register the module. Any idea

Could be that a reset does not affect the Z-Wave data. Have you tried excluding from Vera, then try the include again. (The exclude can be done regardless of whether Vera knows about the device.)

A factory reset (hold the button down while inserting the batteries etc.) definitely doesn’t reset the z-wave data or remove the lock from the network. The zwave data is on a separate module in the lock.

I excluded the lock, then try the include at full power again. The door lock appears in Mios, it goes up well until “Set special association” and then “Failed at: Setting special association”

Update. After trying exclude/include a few times, my lock is a node 22 (started a 8) and it still doesn’t work. Still stuck a Setting Special Association. Spent nearly 3 hours on this with no f… results.

Update. I reset the whole thing to factory settings and reload the configuration from an earlier backup. Exclude de doorlock, then include it again and it worked.

I have the same problem. How do you reset the device?

often it’s enough to do an exclude then include, then give the lock some time to get configured (better if it’s close to Vera or you have nearby nodes that can do routing) …

If you need to reset, there’s a reset button inside (after removing the batteries and the covering) – see the manual.

I had to do the same thing. Once the lock thinks it is paired you have to do a full factory reset to get it to pair again.

Does anybody have the manuel? I think Yale’s site is having issues. Any PDF over 4mb bombs on the download: http://www.yaleresidential.com/en/yale/yale-USA/Real-Living/Documents/

I’m having the same issue but can’t do the basic research to fix my problem. >:(

Thank you.

There is nothing in the manual on how to reset the Z-Wave module. Resetting the lock to factory (using reset button while replacing batteries) has no effect on the Z-Wave module. Does anybody know how to do this?

I used to have a Vera Lite (UI5) that had the Yale Door Lock connected to it. Long story short, Vera Lite w/ UI5 died a tragic death.
Now I got a new Vera Lite (UI7), but had a hell of a time adding my Yale door lock to it, as the Zwave module was already registered to the old Vera.

Here is what you need to do:

  • install batteries into your Vera
  • Disconnect Vera from Power and Network cable and walk with the Vera to your door lock
  • Now hold down the battery button for 3 seconds to turn on the Vera
  • Once your Vera is powered up, press the MINUS button on the Vera, a orange light should be blinking rapidly
  • On your door lock, enter your MASTER PIN and press #
  • Now press “7” and # on your door lock
  • Now press “3” and # on your door lock
  • Now your door lock Zwave module has been disassociated and can be added to your Vera[/li][/list]

To add Yale lock to your Vera:

  • While still standing by your door lock with your Vera in your hand, press the PLUS button on the Vera
  • The orange light should be blinking slowly on your Vera now
  • On your door lock, enter your MASTER PIN and press #
  • Now press “7” and # on your door lock
  • Now press “1” and # on your door lock
  • Once your lock has been added to your Vera, you just need to save your settings within your Vera.
  • Prior to connecting Vera back to your Network and Power, press the PLUS sign for 3 seconds to save all the settings
  • Now connect your Vera back to everything

I hope those instructions help in case you are running into the issue with Zwave module, which is not getting reset by the door locks factory reset.

Coline,

You are anyone else know how to accomplish this with a VeraEdge?

Thanks,
Chris
