I changed the setup of My Yale Real Living deadbolt to have the codes stored on Vera3
I now get 2 weeks out of my battery… Anyone have issues like this with Battery life?
I’ve had mine installed for about a month now, and I’m still at 98% battery life. I don’t use that particular door much (installed it in my front door as a test) but I still make use of it at least once a day. I have several codes for entry saved through Vera.
Are you using the deadbolt often? Was the battery life always this poor for your lock?
It is on the front door… Used maybe 2 - 3 times a day. (otherwise manual from inside to open or lock the deadbolt)
I actually called Yale yesterday… I have one of the first Locks and probably has old firmware… I can’t tell the FW version through vera3 but Yale is sending out a new ZWAVE module… they felt it was a FW issue.
I will post back with results… When I did not have the codes stored on Vera… I was getting closer to one month.
I have a lot of Zwave devices close to the lock and all on the same floor (1st) as the lock… Vera3 in the basement… should not be a week single issue,

Did you by any chance upgrade to the latest firmware version the other day? Ever since doing so, my Yale deadbolt now no longer reports the correct status. When my door is locked it is now reporting it as unlocked, though it will still lock and unlock remotely, it’s no good without it reporting the correct status to me. I’m wondering if the new firmware is interfering with the functionality of the Yale deadbolts.
I did update Vera3’s Firmware … Just tested… Updates Vera fine
are these the batteries that came with the lock? mine died within 3 weeks. Then i got some good brand batteries, and after 1+ month they are still around 98%. I think the batteries that came with the lock are cr@p
No… Those are long gone… I use Duracell… with that new battery smell and all.
