Wireless rs232 for the AD2USB connection to my Ademco Alarm panel

I have ordered the AD2USB rs232 device that will connect my alarm to my VeraLite. I plan to use the plugin to give me a virtual keypad.

My alarm panel is not in the best place for me to keep my veralite and running a cable between them is not going to be pretty. Basically I am either going to have to run a cable from the alarm panel to the veralite (with internet access), or run an Ethernet cable to the alarm panel.

So, I am looking for a wireless solution for either my alarm system speaking to the AD2USB or the internet to talk to veralite.

In the final connection the AD2USB connects to vera with a usb and micro usb cable that is recommended to be no longer than 10 feet.

Another option would be to run alarm wire daisy chained from one of your keypad locations to the vera lite if that is more convenient. Or doing power over ethernet adapters or a wireless bridge adapter and install the vera lite by the alarm panel.

Thanks Steve, I think I am about to figure some sort of solution out.

I think I was over complicating it by saying anything about the alarm. Basically what I want to do now is move the veralite into the alarm panel room and connect it to the internet with a wireless Ethernet adapter.

There are several adapters on the internet and it looks like iogear gwu627 or the netgear wnce2001 are my choices right now. As I said, I was confusing things. I just need to know if veralite will work with an internet network via a wireless Ethernet adapter and if anyone has any recommendations on what brand to use.

I suppose I might have a problem if that turns out to be a bad location for the Veralite, but I will look more closely at the keypad solution if that is the case.

Thanks everyone. Wireless Ethernet adapter recommendation for veralite please?
