Will Two Different PIR Motion Sensors In One Room Interfere With Each Other?

Hi, I have an 11 year old monitored alarm system with a “pet immune” motion sensor over the sliding door. The only way to know if there is activity is if the alarm company calls to say the alarm went off. I recently installed a Vera3 and would like to install my own PIR motion sensor (a EcoLink PIR-ZWAVE2) in the same room but mounted on an opposite wall. Will there be interference / false alarms because of the two different beams interfering with each other?

NO you’re good to go.

Also you do know that some alarm panels monitored or not can be integrated into vera and vera will see them as sensors same as zwave.

Thanks for the reply! Is there a link on how to possibly integrate my Alarm? I’ll have to check my Model.

Read threw this section there is alot of info here.

Check what model you have now and if that don’t work consider swapping out the panel and keypad only to something that does.

Wired sensors and motions work with any alarm model and brand.

All you current door sensors, window sensors, smoke detectors, and motions from the alarm can be used for the alarm but vera can also use them. So you save alot from killing 2 birds with one stone. Rather then have double the sensors for both vera and the alarm. Each z-wave sensor is around 25-30.00 atleast.
