Why is my Vera plus so slow?

I’ve had my Vera plus about a week now. I have the MyQ plugin and the Honeywell Connect plugin along with a couple of 2x light switch relays and a 4 in 1 sensor.

It’s painfully slow navigating the menus, is this normal for the plus or is there something likely to be causing slow loading of pages? I went for the plus assuming it would be the quickest but if this is quick I dread to think what the previous models are like to use.

I’ve used the Alternative UI plugin and that’s far more snappy but unfortunately doesn’t have the setup stuff only the day to day usage features. Is there anything that can speed up the stock Interface please? For a brand new device the slow speed it makes it feel like some cheap copy of a faster device which is a real shame :frowning:

This is something in the UI7 User Interface software (i.e. the code that runs in the Browser and NOT on Vera)

It is very annoying, but I only use the interface for customization, so I can survive the short painful experiences.

It’s really bad when scrolling stops and you have to start it again … and you have to scroll a lot because of the poor utilization of space.

It’s terrible, alternative UI really does show how much faster it could be. Has it always been like this then?

Bear in mind that Vera is a home automation controller rather than a remote control. Once you have your devices and scenes set up you shouldn’t need to use the interface that much.
If you use wall mounted tablet type displays and interfaces then yes it is too slow and thats where the alternatives come in.

I completely agree that once setup it should near enough be set and forget for most of the menus. I just don’t understand why it’s so slow an interface. I guess more goes into compatibility than usability of the web setup interface.

Yes UI7 is very slow. Try it on Chrome, it’s more usable than on Firefox.

Thanks, I’ll give that a go, I currently use it in safari but I’ll give chrome a whirl of it makes it quicker

We wish! ;D

That sounds rather ominous lol

In vera3 ui5 I had a couple of pictures taken
In vera plus I get 30 sek. of nothing because the car has left before video starts.
I would prefer a few pictures taken and thumbnails large enough to view.
Can this be changed or is plus too slow for that too.

For me UI7 is very slow on Chrome but slower on Firefox. Wish I knew why…

Unfortunately it isn’t a UI7 problem but a Vera Plus problem. I am running the “same” version of firmware on both a Vera Edge and a Vera Plus and the Plus definitely has a problem. It is such a dog that it goes out of sync with itself (between the zwave commands the UI mostly) I think this is definitely a bug…

If your running the Same version firmware on both, you have an issue as they are different units and neither the Lite, Edge, or Plus use the same firmware or firmware numbers.

Here is the current version numbers for each of the units.

Gee, thanks.I put “same” version to point out that they are both 7.0.13. The build differs by unit obviously. The point being that it is definitely not a UI7 problem as others keep mentioning. It is a Veraplus problem. No other models on UI7 have behaved this way.
