Which Vera Device to control radiator thermostat valve?

I am looking how to best integrate thermostat valves of radiators as part of a central heating system into Vera. I am using Develo thermostats, similar to POPP or Danfoss LC-13.

  1. What Vera device is suggested to be used: Heater1 or HVAC_ZoneThermostat1, which Vera installs when pairing?
  2. How to make use of eco mode?
