What would you do with an unlimited Home Automation budget?

I thought this would be a fun thread. I will take a stab:

? All light switches are addressable
? Garage Door integrated
? All door locks integrated
? HVAC controls integrated
? Curtains / Blinds automated
? Alarm system that has 2 way communication to HA system
? Multiple IP Cameras
? Multiple NFC sensors
? AV Control and integration
? Doorbell with video and ability to trip events
? Full environmental sensing (temp, humidity, light, etc) in multiple locations
? Multiple permanently mounted android tablets to use as gateways to the HA system (voice commands, launch video streams from cameras based on conditions (i.e. someone rings door bell))

Door/window sensors on all doors/cabinets to activate scenes as well as a Sonos in every room.

NFC and z-wave sensor/lock controlled doggie door so I can let my fids out if need be.
Android phone.tablet connected to indoor and outdoor speakers so i can use Skype to talk to me fids or call them to come back in and then lock the doggie door.
Pool/Spa pump/heater integration

If really unlimited I’d design the perfect HA setup and then build a house around it. ;D

I like this thread, but for me, it’s an unlimited amount of time, since getting things installed and running seem to be the rate limiting step for me! I have all of the items already mentioned on the list, as well as a few others:

–Moisture sensors in all of the landscape areas around our house and sprinkler system running based on soil moisture, as well as water shut off if a sprinkler breaks
–z-wave gate locks
–perimeter monitoring set up on all edges of our property
–automatic pool filling (though not sure I trust this to z-wave)
–remote pool and spa control
–pressure sensors in bed, seats, etc…

BOFH, we have a semi-automated solution for the dogs. We have an electronic dog door that opens when dogs are close to the door. I have this on an appliance module, so we can turn the door on/off depending on whether we want the dogs out. Catch is that I had to put a sensor on it so that it doesn’t turn off if one of the dogs is in the door.

Unlimited HA budget?

Buy Vera, fire the management, and bring in a team of folks who know how to bring products to market, on time and within budget. ;D

OMG, this! I honestly don’t know why they don’t take in a big chunk of money from private equity and hire enough people to build this correctly and really ramp. There’s so much potential here, it drives me nuts that the execution is so clunky.
