What is the new procedure for adding IP cameras

Just upgraded to the latest greatest firmware. My Panasonic blah blah 30 camera did not make it through the firmware upgrade.

It worked fine in the past. Logged, pan, tilt, etc.

I have gone to the “Camera” Page in devices. The only option it seems to add a camera is to add it’s UpnpDevFilename. What the heck is this? I tried various versions of the I_PanasonicPTZ.xml filename with no luck. Powered down both, one and then the other, etc devices to see if it would be automagically detected. No luck.

What am I missing here?

I would also like to know this…

I haven’t been able to make my two Trendnet cameras work with Vera since 616. UPnP is “Enabled” on the cameras and they show up in XP, Safari, and IPView Pro. But not Vera. Argh! If anybody has time to rewrite the how-to for them, it would be very much appreciated!

Since Vera can’t detect my UPnP cameras, I’ve tried to do a manual installation. I have no clue what I"m doing, and there is no useful doc on the wiki. I’ve tried lots of different things and nothing has worked. Would one of you be willing to look at my device config (attached JPEG) and make some suggestions? Thanks!

Go to Devices, Luup, install plugins, and there should be a ‘generic IP camera’ plugin to install. That adds a new device so you can add the ip/mac/username/password/path to the jpeg file.

Just curious (prior to purchasing a camera) - Does this method support Pan/Tilt/Zoom cameras as well?

There is Panasonic IP Camera with Pan/Tilt/Zoom Luup plugin
