WAN blinking green, Power, WiFi & Zwave solid green - no internet

For the past few weeks everything with my Vera3 was working great. I have only one device connected, a Yale touchscreen deadbolt. Today I was downloading photos from a recent trip and the internet connection went out. I reset the modem, call the broadband company and determined the modem is fine. Tried to restore settings to default and that didn’t work. Tried connecting computer via Ethernet directly to modern and that resulted in an error in network settings saying it had a self assigned IP address which was a 169.xxx.xx.xx indicating something strange going on. Any help is appreciated.

I can connect to the mios dashboard, but cannot access tech support etc. because of no internet connection.

P.S. I have done the telnet thing using instructions and now my reset button send not to make the power button flash quickly as it did before. Still have WAN blinking fast.

Now when connecting to router via dashboard I receive error:

“Luup engine taking longer to reload. (I tried to reload)
You can try to reboot your Unit (I tried to reboot)
If the problem persist contact tech support”

Nothing doing with any of those options.

are you setting vera’s IP internal to vera or with DHCP reservation on your router?

your vera may have changed IP and you may have a firewall setting issue.

Go to Setup>Net&WiFi and test your connection with “Troubleshoot Network”

Post your results and we can comment

At this point I cannot even troubleshoot network because the dashboard has a yellow banner saying luup engine taking longer to reload. As mentioned above, rebooting does nothing.

OK, Now I have been able to reconnect my computer directly to the modem for internet access via ethernet. However, when I try to use the Vera3 (Connect computer to Vera3 through LAN1 port, connect Vera 3 to modem through WAN port), I cannot even access the dashboard as it gets stuck on “loading data”. The Power, Wifi are solid, while WAN blinks fast.

So, you don’t have a router attached to your modem? Your PC is plugged directly to the modem and your vera is connected to the PC?

or

Is there a router that is connected to the modem and both your PC and the Vera is plugged into?

There is no router, I have been using the Vera3 as a router in addition to home automation.

In order to obtain internet access, I must connect computer directly to modem. When I attempt to use Vera3 as gateway, I get the aforementioned problems.

You may want to review your DHCP settings in your vera 3. that’s the first place I’d go. Make sure the Vera router is set up to be a DHCP server (provides IP addresses to clients) and then plug your pc into the vera.

Thanks for the advice, but how can I go about doing that? When I attempt to access the Vera dashboard, I only get a “loading data” and that’s where it stalls out now.

This problem was resolved, ultimately, by resetting the modem by itself; not connected to the vera, only to computer, then restarting the modem connected to nothing but power.

Then resetting vera to defaults by itself, connected only to computer.

Then, connecting vera to modem after modem is started up using WAN port.

Then connecting computer again.

It took awhile, but everything is working again. Don’t know what caused the disruption.
