Vision siren ZM1601 not recognized

I tried to include the Vision siren ZM1601 - but it will be recognised like “power switch”
http://www.visionsecurity.com.tw/ha_products_page2_154_160.html

used device type: urn:schemas-upnp-org:device:BinaryLight:1

So I can not setup the alarm type (Siren/Strobe Mode parameter) and other alarm parameters.

What is here wrong?

Thanks,
Michael

Too bad… Is it a general problem? I just order one yesterday… Shall I cancel the order and get a diffrent make/brand?

According to http://www.vesternet.com/z-wave-vision-wireless-siren-battery-powered and their compability chart on http://www.vesternet.com/compatibility/z-wave-compatibility-guide it should work …

Maybe your device is broken or configured faulty?

Hi,
no, device is not broken ;).
I didn’t want to say that it doesn’t work… It will give acoustic alarm and strobe - and you can disable it.
But you can not setup strobe alarm only and can not define the alarm time.

The device is missing in the productcs library - this is the problem, that’s why he right confg file can not be taken.

I think I have found a solution - will make some tests and publish it later.

Michael

Device was now added by developers.
Will be recognizd as siren - but still can not be configured in interface.

Will suggest there a modification in library (XML) - because of in my user defined lib it was better working…

hello,

i’ve got the same problem, i cannot find how to choose only snooze or only light, maybe you have found a solution on this issue ?

many thx
(I’m really a newbies on Vera parameters

Hi,

I just tried to connect my Vision Siren (ZM1601) to Vera Lite and it seems that my Vera does not recognise the device. I have upgraded my Vera Lite to Firmware version 1.5.672 could this cause the issue.

Process:
1 remove bracket
2 inserted batteries
3 set my vera lite to Add new devices
4 On the alarm pushed the program button

What am I doing wrong?

All help is welcome

Thanks
Ron

It works on my VeraLite with the same FW.

It does however turn up as a “switch”, for ie. light bulbs, but it works (audio and visual) by pressing On/Off, which also makes it work just fine for anything I can think of.

I want to only use the strobe light on this siren, is this possible with VeraLite?

Hi
yes.
see http://www.zwave-review.com/Anleitungen/Vision_Sirene_ZM1601.php

its in German - but the pictures for Vera are understandable ,)

Siren/Strobe Mode
(0=Sirene and Strobe 1=only Sirene 2=only Strobe)

Best regards
Michael

Ok, if anyone else is stuck with this, to get it to work, edit the device (if its shown up as a binary switch)

Go to “Advanced” tab
under device_file put in “D_Siren1.xml”
save then reload

go back to the the device popup, under “Device Options” click “Add configuration settings” add
variable, data size, desired value
0, 1 byte dec, 0
1, 1 byte dec, 3

the first desired value can be 0 for siren and strobe, 1 for siren only, 2 for strobe only
the second desired value can be 0 for 30 seconds, 1 for 60 seconds, 2 for 120 seconds, 3 for dont stop.

So in the above settings I have strobe and siren and set to dont stop.

I have no idea why the default is 30 seconds only, which is completely stupid for an alarm siren…
