Videos in Archive - no File type or extension

My Foscam IP camera is storing video files in the archive. When I click on them from the archive location a new web page opens with garbled text. When I download the file it does not have a file type.
1.How are people viewing videos from the archive?
2. What file type (extension) should the video file be?

Your answer was posted in another forum topic that you posted a very similar question like this. You can not view archived videos as it is not implemented yet. The reply that another forum user from MCV states this and will be a premium service. The garbled text you see is the binary data of the actual video stream. Your web browser look like it can not handle that video stream.
