Cant find were I can view my Archived Videos in IU5.

Hi

Lets try this one more time.
I have a Vera2 that i just upgraded from UI4 to UI5 with firmware version: 1.5.236, and I can not find the main Mios.com page. https://cp.mios.comArchived images” tab. I have had vera for about 6 months that I added about 10 light controlers, 3 thermostats, 3 cameras, 3 motion sensors. Had some small issues that I found how to reslove in these forums, But I can’t find how to view the Archived Images .

Thanks

I don’t archive my images on mios, but I will give you my best guess. My understanding is that with UI5 micasaverde changed to a view that looks the same remotely and locally. That is, more functions are accessed right from the dashboard.

My cameras all have three buttons on the side: “View”, “Archive”, and “Record”. I assumed that “Archive” would pull up the camera archive?

If you don’t see that button, and a little thumbnail of the camera on devices page (without going into the camera), then you are probably have some old UI4 camera files lying around. You can go to “Apps” → “Develop Apps” → “Luup files” and see if there are duplicates of a few files like “D_DigitalSecurityCamera1.xml”. If so this thread has instructions on removing them:

If you do that then you should get a camera that looks like what I described. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Richard,

Either click on the Archive button on the camera, or go to Users >> My Alerts. If you can’t see these buttons on the camera devices, run this script to delete the old camera files: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,8616.msg55899.html#msg55899

Thanks
I now have the buttons “View”, “Archive”, and “Record” on my cameras, after I ran the code provided by mcvflorin.
But the “Archive”, and “Record” don’t seem to work. When i push the archive button I get “Camera archives are not available”.
I will play around tonight to see if all my setting are right.

Also noticed some odd thing, like having video settings in other devices, one of my thermostats being sent a command " transmit was ok" every minute or so and not being able to save changes all the time.

Might just start over, upgrade to UI5 and reinstall all my devices this weekend.

I’m still using Vera 2 UI4. I have a number of cameras, both Panasonics and Foscams, and they work fine with Vera, but I’ve never seen an option to save or archive images. Are the archives motion or stills? What additional hardware, software or tweeks to UI4 (or UI5) are needed?

Thanks.

after you log in you get some options like events- dashboard- camera etc

just click on camera and it takes you to archive pictures there you can view all, there are stills taken every so many minutes (depending on your settings)

they will remain in archive for a period of time (depending on your settings)

go to device settings to change archive period and time between pics taken

double click on a particular pic to copy or send to hard drive

given all the problems people are having with cameras and sensors when they upgrade I would leave well enough alone for the time being!

This is what I see when I click on Camera from the cp.mios.com dashboard:

“NOTE: Servers were updated and your data prior November 17 2011 will be imported in nearby future.
Please contact admin@micasaverde.com if you need them imediatelly imported.
No camera images archived for this user.”

I’ve had Vera 2 with cameras since May, but I have never seen anything on the archive page.

Was there something I missed during setup?

Bit beyond me now as you should see archived images make sure you have checked all the appropriate boxes under camera settings for archiving pics in your dashboard

Hi Lonestar10,

Did you enable archiving by configuring the camera from the Settings tab? See attached image.

Did you enable archiving by configuring the camera from the Settings tab?

No, those settings were blank.

Thanks for the information. I’ve set a couple of cameras to snap a picture every 5 minutes and save it for 7 days.

What are the preferred numbers? I don’t want to bog down the system. Where are the images stored?

Thanks for the clarification.

Your numbers are fine.

The images are stored on the CMS (Camera Management) servers (cms1.mios.com and cms2.mios.com).

But watch about the archives in UI5? I have a ‘Archive’ button on the camera device. First time I clicked it I had to login to MIOS. But after that first time clicking the button just results in the message ‘Camera archives are not available’

I’m having the same issue in UI5. I have the settings set up to archive at a particular interval but if I hit the archive button, I get the message that images are not archived for that camera. I also noticed when I set up teh interval to archive there is a message you must have an account on the servers. I have a micasverde/mios account. Is that the account they are referring too? If not, How do I get an account? I saw one site that sells Vera’s saying you need to pay $30/year for archiving but I can’t find anything on the Micasaverde site to sign up for this option.

Long time Vera2 user with few issues, also have a Vera3 that I have been playing with and I’ve had the same problems as everyone else with the archiving of photos. I had found something interesting however that seems to have fixed my issues.
Typically I go into network setup and change to a static IP address and every time I do this I lose the ability to archive photos from my cameras. By chance I did a factory reset and re-installed everything and it worked great. I then noticed I was setup for automatic config on the network side. So I went and changed to manual config and set my static IP and guess what I lost my photo archiving feature again. So I went back and set the network to automatic and my photo archiving came back.
Not 100% sure what the problem is but the connections to the MIOS servers are somehow being lost when I manually config. So for now I’m staying as an auto config and everything is working well - including the Ergy Energy pages.

Important observation diagnostically. Hope someone from MCV is listening! 8)

I also have the same issue with no archive in UI5. I also changed to automatic config but still can not see the archive.

@napolitano172

I tried to reproduce this on a Vera 3 but I couldn’t. Archiving worked even if the Vera had static IP. Can someone with archiving problems try to reproduce this and let me know the result?

I have a Vera3 - running the lastest software. On my Vera 2 I didn’t have MAC addresses for my cameras and I read somewhere that you need them on the Vera3 unit for archiving to work. Before adding them my archiving did not work either. Now that I have added MAC address for my 5 cameras and changed to automatic config everything is working for me. I thought I’d try a static IP one more time and again I lost the archive function. Again went back to automatic and it came back.

It is an odd thing. For those of you where it is not working do you have MAC addresses loaded?

By the way - I have 5 camera’s (2 Forscam - 1 outside and 1 inside with pan and tilt working, 1 D-Link 920 Series, and 2 Schlage cameras from Radio Shack re-imaged with NorthQ) All are working without issue.

re: napolitano172

Thank you! I didn’t know about having to add the MAC addresses. Now, I’m NOT getting the video archive error any more! My archive area is empty so I have to see if I can set up an interval and get some archives there but I’m hopeful now!
