Veraplus Service Light Out

Firmware: 1.7.5186
Ethernet: wired, static address

I can access Vera+ via Ethernet IP address and initiate all device commands.
Alexa and Android app cannot connect. Alexa says check internet connect, Android just twirls forever.
Have tried powering off and reset button.
My POP external IP has not changed, but would expect a reset to fix it in that case.
No other services requiring access via WLAN IP address are having problems.
No email that HA controller is down as I normally get if power or WLAN goes out.
This started at 6 pm EST 9 January 25. No network or power issues at that time (watching news on internet).

Hello @chrlsrchrdsn

We are currently experiencing a temporary server outage, which is affecting connectivity through Alexa and the Android app. This is also why your controller is not functioning as expected via these platforms.

Our team is actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. For updates on the situation, please refer to this thread: Temporary Service Disruption: Vera Servers

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we address this issue.

Thanks for the info! Makes me feel much better!

Hello,

Do you have any news or status on this issue - when it might be resolved? I can’t find an update since the linked post above five days or so ago.

Thanks.

Hello @chrlsrchrdsn

Could you please power cycle your Vera Plus (serial ending in 63)? We’ve moved your controller to a different server to help bring it back online.

Hello @SJMarty

Could you please power cycle your Vera 3 (serial ending in 56)? We’ve moved your controller to a different server to help bring it back online.

I power cycled it and after trying to access it via browser now, it’s in a ā€œTrying Direct Connectionā€¦ā€ loop.

Hello @SJMarty,

Could you please try using the Vera app on your mobile device or accessing it via Mozilla Firefox on your computer?

I’m seeing the same ā€œTrying Direct Connectionā€¦ā€ loop in Firefox. Alexa service is also down.

Message hangs at ā€œChecking controllers statusā€. Then proceeds to ā€œcould not load controller’s listā€.

I was already using Firefox but just tried it again and same behavior. It also hangs up trying to load the weather on the screen before attempting to connect to the controller.

The mobile app appears to be working. Unfortunately, I don’t use it in any of my automation.

Hello @Buxton and @SJMarty,

Could you please check this post and the suggested workaround? Anyone else having issues with home.getvera.com and connecting to your Vera hub through it? - #10 by GreybeardVR

@JonathanB

The fix in this thread applies to Chromium-based browsers. I’m using Firefox.

That solved the chrome loop error, but I still get the message hang at ā€œChecking controllers statusā€. Then proceeds to ā€œcould not load controller’s listā€. That is for firefox and chrome.

The final error message is ā€œerror grabbing dataā€ that occurs during the ā€œchecking connectionā€ phase. This applies to both of my controllers on my network.

Hi, I’m in the same boat. Service light is out and trying to login (Chrome on Android) gives me same ā€œChecking Controller statusā€/ā€œFailed to loadā€¦ā€ messages.

Yes, I have the same problem. Service light out. Vera app works but not Alexa. Cannot connect to controller via browser.

Same for me… ā€˜Service’ led is out and no cloud services like remote acces ans Google Home are available.

Dear Community,

We are pleased to inform you that the technical issue with one of our servers has been resolved. However, we are currently monitoring the controllers as the connection stabilizes, so you may experience some intermittent connectivity during this period.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure full stability. If you have any questions or encounter any issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Thanks! Your work is appreciated. My wife, who was cool to the whole voice control ā€œthingieā€ (her word), but was MISSING IT! Thanks again!
