VeraPlus error 174 "failed to setup security" on Monoprice Z-wave plug

I added a Monoprice z-wave switch to my network and got the following error:

Z-Wave device 174 ERROR: Failed to setup security. Please exclude this device from your system, and then include again…Z-Wave device 174 ERROR: Failed to setup security. Please exclude this device from your system, and then include again.

The device seems to work fine; it goes on and off when requested. However, I keep getting this error even after removing it from my network and adding it back again.

Any ideas on how to get it to work correctly? I have other Monoprice z-wave switches and they all work fine; it’s just this one device giving me a problem.

Did you try to remove it and add it again? if that didn’t work that could mean that the firmware version of the device might be different than the other ones, however, if you continue with this problem please let me know and we’ll open a support ticket in order to troubleshoot and then share what we did here.

Interestingly, I unplugged it for over 24 hours and when I plugged it back in today the error was no longer there.
