I’ve always wondered am I able to connect with my local system if the UI5 servers go down for a very extended time? I understand that remote access is cutoff so I’m only concerned about local control over my LAN.
It definitely can. Once you’re on the wifi network, all commands go directly to the unit, so won’t attempt to use MCV’s servers.
There’s only one slight caveat, and that is, if you’re logging on currently the (recommended) way is to use a MCV server which send out the UDP/etc commands to detect local Veras - I have on my dev list to bypass this completely, it’s just untested at the moment, and since it hasn’t been a problem, low priority. The worst case here is you just enter the IP of your Vera to login, so again, no matter what happens to the MCV servers, you’ll be able to use VeraMate.
